The Black Festival of Chincha

The Black Festival of Chincha is a great celebration that takes place in February and
March every year. It is the most important tourist activity in the province of Ica.

It is a joyful festival black and very good flavor. The festival is to highlight black
culture, cuisine, poetry, dance. Carried out short stories and poetry contests, as well
as black dance festivals fun, enthusiastic marches and other activities.

On Friday takes place the Great Black Serenade Black Summer Festival features
colorful burning fireworks and the presence of renowned artists in the main square
of Chincha.

Black Summer Festival and holds a parade of African traditional dress.

One of the attractions is the Black Summer Food Festival at the Plaza de Armas of

Plaza de Armas and evening yunza Gran Peña Negra in El Carmen.

of the city.
El Festival Negro de Chincha es una gran celebración que se realiza en el mes de
febrero y marzo de todos los años. Es la actividad turística más importante de la
provincia de Ica.

Se trata de un festival lleno de alegría negra y de muy buena sazón. El objetivo del
festival es resaltar la cultura negra, su gastronomía, su poesía, sus bailes. Se llevan a
cabo concursos de cuentos y poesía, así como también divertidos festivales de danza
negra, entusiastas marchas y otras actividades.

El Viernes se lleva a cabo la Gran Serenata Negra del Festival Verano Negro cuenta
con la quema de vistosos fuegos artificiales y con la presencia de renombrados
artistas nacionales en la Plaza de Armas de Chincha.

La inauguración se realiza en la Plaza de Armas de Chincha Alta, con el izamiento

del Pabellón y la Bandera de Chincha, cuenta con la presencia de las candidatas a
Señorita Festival de Verano Negro y se lleva a cabo un desfile de Vestimentas
Típicas Africanas.

Uno de atractivos del Verano Negro es su Festival Gastronómico en la Plaza de

Armas de Chincha. Se pueden degustar diversos platos típicos de la zona como la
carapulcra con sopa seca, el frejol negro al estilo Mamainé, la carapulcra de
garbanzos, tamales y chicharrones, además de exquisitos postres como el frejol
colado, camotillo y chancaquitas, entre otros potajes.

Atracciones muy populares son la verbena negra "Ritmo, color y sabor", el concurso
de festejo y zapateo Regional y la Exposición de Música Afro Chinchana.

Las "décimas" no faltan en este festival. La Décima es una poesía peruana

tradicional con la que se piropeaba a una dama o se daba batalla contra otro "poeta"
y es comúnmente de naturaleza humorística, satírica o irónica. En la Biblioteca
Municipal se lleva a cabo el Encuentro Nacional de Décimas que siempre promete
mucha diversión.

Otro espectáculo que no se puede perder es el espectacular Encuentro de Cajoneros

que se produce en la Plaza de Armas y por la noche Gran Peña y Yunza Negra en El
Carmen.

El último día se puede disfrutar de un Gran Corso y un atractivo Pasacalle por las
principales avenidas de la ciudad.
