THE PROBLEM

aIntroduction

“The origin of facebook have been indispute since the very week a nineteen year old

Mark Zuckerberge launched the site as Harvard sophomore on February 4,2 004 then called as

the facebook.com the site was an instant hit “.-Nicholas Carlson (March 5,2010).

At a young age , youth are more wise in computer and they all know the different social

media site like Twitter , Instagram espesially Facebook.

Facebook is the widely use among social media. Because they expressed their feelings

on Facebook.

According to the previous study of Internet and Mobile marketing Associate of the

Philippines (IMMAP) last September 29, 2014 , “ there are 22 million Filipino used Facebook by

using their smart phone” (IMMAP Pres. Michael Palacios). And we all know that IMMAP are

always reporting about internet including the social media site . Facebook has many user’s or

increased.

As Facebook users and researchers we conduct tthis research at Looc Integrated School

Calamba City . Because the reasercher want to know the perception of Grade -11 Athena (Co-

user) about Facebook addiction.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The study aims the perception of G-11 Athena about Facebook addiction .

Objectives :To know and determine the perception of Grade -11 Athena about Facebook

addiction to determine the posible effect of Face book ?

1. What is the perception of Grade 11 Athena about Face book addiction.

2 . What are the posible effect of facebook addiction.

Theoretical Framework

Researchers in Norway have published a psychological scale to measure Facebook

addiction, the first of its kind worldwide. They wrote about their work in the April 2012 issue of

the journal Psychological Reports. They hope that researchers will find the new psychometric

tool useful in investigating problem behavior linked to Facebook use.

However, an accompanying article suggests a more useful approach might be to measure

addiction to social networking as an activity, rather than addiction to a specific product like

Facebook. This is particularly relevant given that Facebook is now more than a social

networking site (for instance users can watch videos and films, gamble and play games on the

site) and social networking is not confined to Facebook.

The new measure is called the BFAS, short for the Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale and

is the work of Dr. Cecilie Andraessen at the University of Bergen (UiB), Norway, and

colleagues. Andreassen currently leads the Facebook Addiction research project at UiB.

In their paper, Andraessen and colleagues describe how they started out with a pool of 18

items made up of three items for each of the six core elements of addiction: salience, mood

modification, tolerance, withdrawal, conflict, and relapse.

Significance of the Study

This study is important to the following person of Looc Integrated School.

Students - they will determine the proper use of Facebook.

 Parents - they will guide their children if they know the proper use of Facebook.

Researcher - the result after finding the perception of Grade -11 Athena will help them on

their study specially for their selves on how to use Facebook in proper way.

Scope and Limitation

The scope and limitation of the study is to know the perception of grade -11Athena of

Looc Integrated School Calamba City on Facebook Addiction . The respondent being used has

the total number of Forty two student which the researcher is being involved with the used of

systematical procedure or an interview.

Definition of term

Launched - start or set in motion

Sophomore - denoting second album a film etc,.released by a particular artist.

Technology - the application of scientific knowledge for particular purposes, especially in

industy

Social media - website and application that enable the user to crete and share content or

particpate in social networking.

Indispute - unable to be change or denied.
