Early voting
stretches N.M.
election season
By Tim Korte

ALBUQUERQUE — Forget waiting to vote

on Election Day. That’s as yesterday as an 8-
track player.
Most New Mexico residents vote early, and
that means campaigns have been gearing up
for months to be ready.
Both parties have their eyes on the Nov.
2 general election, of course, but the more
immediate concerns are the Oct. 5 start of in-
person absentee voting across the state and
regular early voting sites that open Oct. 16.
Both options end Oct. 30.
Please see VOTING, Page C-3 From left, Sylvia Davis, 7, Faith Pino, 5, Sydney Pino, 7, and Grace Pino, 7, were awarded best hysterical entry for Barbies on Parade.
