Chapter 2

The law may be viewed at times as orders backed by threats. People may wish
that their fellow man may behave in a certain way and would likely do something to
ensure it. The degree may vary depending on the behavior sought. One of these things is
an order. An order, as opposed to a plea or a request, may contain threats or a certain
action that will ensure the thing ordered.
Laws are very much like coercive orders. The difference is that the law does not
need a persistent expression. The law is a standard that provides a general type of
conduct and prescribes a specific conduct to a general class of people. The applicability
of a law have to considered who are subject to it. It must follow due process. Laws are
to be treated with supremacy among the people. They have to have external
independence in a way that other laws from other nations do not necessarily form part
of the law of the land.
