ABSTRACT

With the widespread availability of computers to aid teachers in

conducting classroom assessments, this research study seeks to

unravel and determine the relationship between Computer Aided

Assessment (CAA) and attitude of students in Empowerment

Technology. A total of 176 senior high school students (Grade 11 and

12) of Tagum National Trade School was considered to participate in

the study. The study employed the non-experimental design using

correlational technique fitting to describe the relationship of students’

acceptability of computer aided assessment and students’ attitude

towards the Empowerment Technology subject. After analyzing the

data gathered, results showed high acceptability of computer aided

assessment which means that the usefulness, ease of use and fairness

of the computer aided assessment was perceived by the students

during the assessment. In terms of attitude, students showed very

favorable response towards the subject. This suggests that students’

affective attitude, effort, interest and cognitive towards the subject

was not threatened. Hence, students did not feel disappointed nor

stressed during the course of the subject. In finding significant

differences, grade level showed no significance. However, a significant

difference was found in the students’ sex. Furthermore, the study

found out a significant relationship between computer aided

7

assessment and students’ attitude in the Empowerment Technology

that implies students tend to have positive learning outcomes in the

subject. Thus, implications suggest to broaden the administration of

the implementation including other subjects and considering an

increase and more varied population in terms of track specialization of

the students.
