SBE Guide to Academics

Undergraduate Programs (BBA and B.Sc. in Economics)

Applicable from Fall 2014 (143 Batch & Onwards for BBA Students)
“The SBE Guide to Academics” is designed to help the undergraduate students navigate a
path through their academic journey in the School of Business and Economics in North
South University. The document includes the critical requirements, along with the courses
and optional course sequences, to guide the students in remaining on track to graduation.
By providing an overview of the different types of undergraduate courses available to be
taught at SBE, this compilation aims to assist the students in maintaining a consistent
academic plan throughout the BBA program. There are several opportunities to undertake
the School core courses, BBA core courses, General education courses, Major courses, the
free electives, and certain prerequisites required to proceed from one course to another
within each Major. This guideline distinctly lists and demonstrates respective code and title
of these courses, along with the semesters they should be undertaken.
Starting with the basic BBA framework, it outlines the general course map for a four-year
course. The offered major courses are listed afterwards, followed by the individual maps for
each of them respectively. While it’s primarily for use by newly enrolled undergraduates of
2016, the current students*** may also refer to this guide to plan the remainder of their
time in the degree. The conceptual outlines provided in this document invite you to explore
the vast academic offerings of SBE, and intends to ensure a successful completion of your
preferred degree.
Students must act responsively in selecting their courses, and refer to this guide as well as
the updated information provided in the NSU website. Moreover, the course level should
match the student’s academic experience (eg- 200 level courses shouldn’t be taken before
reaching 2nd year).

***BBA students who started in Fall 2014 or later (i.e., students’ whose ID numbers begin
with 143, 151, 152 or higher). B.Sc. in Economics students who Started in Summer 2015 or
later (i.e., students’ whose ID numbers begin with 152, 153, 161 or higher).
BBA students who had started NSU earlier than Fall 2014, and B.Sc. in Economics students
