Objective

ClowdFlows is an ope n s ource cloud bas e d platform de ve lope d within the MUSE FET proje ct that s upports the
compos ition and e xe cution of data and te xt proce s s ing workflows on the We b. It has a us e r-frie ndly graphical inte rface
running in any brows e r, and s upports big data analytics and te xt mining to dis cove r patte rns and re gularitie s le ading to
ne w ins ights . As s uch, it fulfils the ne e ds of many companie s facing the proble m of colle cting huge amounts of data but
lacking intuitive us e r-frie ndly tools to improve compe titive marke t advantage . Data and te xt proce s s ing in ClowdFlows is
e as ily manage d in the brows e r by conne cting proce s s ing compone nts into an e xe cutable workflow e xe cute d in the
cloud. Once cons tructe d, workflows can be re us e d to proce s s vas t amounts of s tatic data or high volume s of data
s tre ams . The we b bas e d platform is provide d as a hos te d s e rvice , with the ability for us e rs to ins tall it on a private
cloud. In the propos e d bus ine s s mode l, ClowdFlows s e rve s as a workflow publis hing platform: a marke tplace of re ady-
made workflows and data/te xt proce s s ing compone nts , offe ring compone nts for re us e to companie s lacking the
e xpe rtis e and tools to pe rform ne e de d big data analytics . From the e nd us e r’s pe rs pe ctive , the lack of inte rnal
de ve lopme ntal re s ource s is compe ns ate d by crowds ourcing of ne e de d ne w analytical compone nts within the
marke tplace . From the de ve lope r’s pe rs pe ctive , the ClowdFlows marke tplace allows the de ve lope rs of proce s s ing
compone nts to publis h and mone tiz e the ir work, and to conne ct to companie s in ne e d of e as y to us e cloud bas e d data
mining tools . The CF-We b proje ct will de ve lop a value propos ition focus e d on e as e of us e for e nd-us e rs including SMEs ,
and s e rve as a marke tplace of workflow compone nts and provide re ve nue s haring for de ve lope rs , while cre ating a
growing, s table , ne w bus ine s s ve nture bas e d in Slove nia.
