A template contains a set of NE configuration parameters and

parameter values.
A template can be regarded as a data set for a sample NE. The
CME categorizes templates based on NE MOs. For example, a
base station template that contains hardware data and global
data, and a cell template that contains basic cell information.
Are there any shortcut
methods to modify data about
a batch of base stations to be
consistent with the data about
a sample base station?
The CME template management
function helps you solve all the
preceding problems.
Easy base station creation Efficient reconstruction Quick reconfiguration
Save the sample base station
data as a template and use
the template application
function to quickly reconfigure
data in batches.

How Do I Improve
Configuration Efficiency?
Site Deployment
For base stations with similar
configuration, how do I copy
the data of one base station
to the other base stations?
Hardware Reconstruction Reconfiguration
What should I do if the cabinet
and subrack numbers of a
base station that need to be
modified cannot be modified?
Save the data of a sample base
station as a template. Use the
template when deploying a
new base station.
Use the template conversion
function to quickly modify the
cabinet and subrack numbers of
the base station that cannot be
modified directly.
What is the template?
The configuration parameters in templates vary with template types
and NE versions. For details, see the section Template Management
in the CME Online Help.
What types of templates does
the CME provide?
Document Version: 01

1 Does a template contain

data?
2 Is the Excel file exported
from the CME a template?
The template contains not only configuration
parameters but also parameter values.
No. The template is an XML file. Excel files are
used for filling data in the scenarios of site
deployment and reconfiguration. Some Excel files
contain the fields for selecting templates. For
example:

Do I need to prepare a template
if only the cabinet and subrack
numbers of the base station to
be created are different from
those in the template data?
You can use the template conversion
function to change the cabinet and
subrack numbers and then save the data
as a new template.
Includes the radio parameters at the base station
level, such as algorithm parameters and
handover parameters.
Includes device data and common transport data
of base stations.
Note: The NodeB template of V100R016 contains all
parameters of the physical NodeB (device, transport,
and radio parameters).
Includes cell basic information and cell software
parameters.
Includes the basic configuration information of
the controller, software parameters, and common
configuration of the transmission interface.
Includes all parameters of the external cell. Includes all parameters of neighboring cells.
Includes all parameters for configuring the Abis,
Iub, or Iu/Iur interface.
Includes cell types and the frequency list. Only
GSM cells support this template type.
