Atypical disorders are now the norm

They’ve survived adolescence. Yet
Celebrating the
distinctions
more and more grown men and
women are suffering from anorexia,
bulimia and other dangerous, some-
times deadly, eating behaviours.
Women’s Health reveals the alarm-
ingly familiar risk factors.
For decades, the eating disorder
lexicon had two main entries: ano-
rexia and bulimia. But modern re-
search reveals that these fall woefully
short of encompassing the many fa-
