The real me
Grammar: Miscellaneous
Vocabulary: Miscellaneous
Materials: Copies of the silhouette
Organization: Individual work
Procedure:
1. Distribute a copy of the silhouette to each student and explain what this
figure represents:
• The head is what they think , watch ,listen to ,drink, etc.
• The trunk of the body represents what they like or dislike to eat and how they
are feeling.
• The arms and the legs are what they can do with their bodies - their physical
skills.

2. Students should write the words or draw sketches that represent the aspects
mentioned above inside the corresponding part of the body. Once they
are ready they should write their names at the back of the silhouette and
hand it into their teacher, who should give out the drawings at random and
encourage each student to talk about one of their classmates.

3. This activity can be used as an ice breaker for a first lesson. It is really
important that you start the activity by drawing your silhouette and talking
about yourself - students do want to know about you. Before having the
students talk, model the speech yourself and write sample sentences on the
blackboard.
