SAM-R Question

Thinking about doing another "tribute" rifle, ok, clone. I want to have a SAM-R built. Anyone know what year PWS
built them and if any of them had the gas blocks secured by set screws and milled barrel flats or if they all used
tapered pins? I only wonder this because if they were based on PWS rifle team service rifles, would they have used
the barrels they had on hand to build the first ones, which would have probably had screw flats. Any thoughts?

I'd try arf.com on that one. Never seen a post on SH about a sam r build. SDMR, MK 12 mod 0, 1 I have seen clone
builds on here with specs. I think what stopped me was the front sight assembly specifically where to find.

Target Identification and Precision Fire Testing
Wendy R. Trickey
The following pages show lists and figures of the configurations of the 5 SAM-Rs and 3 M-16 A4s that we used for
this testing. The SAM-Rs are numbered for reference to table 1. We assumed that there was no difference between
the rifles’ performances. However, the precision values from SAM-R 1 were found to be significantly worse (by
more than 20 percent) than the other SAM-Rs (t-test, p < 0.03). The figures also show the optic used with each
SAM-R. All SAM-Rs were built to the 2-MOA specification. They were new, with no more than 150 rounds through
them. They were fitted with Harris swivel bipods HBLM-S and A.R.M.S. quick release bipod mounts.
