Helping school to build on what they are getting right and helping them develop areas where they could
do better is ultimately what will secure an education system that gets the best from every pupils,
(Sellgren,2012).

According to the National Association of Head Teachers, 71% of parents believed that they were more
involved in their children school that their parents had been during their school days. Added to that
survey, 86% of the respondents agreed with the statement that their child could read as well as they
could at the age of 11 ans 37% thought their child could read better. This shows only that parents should
have a respect and trust to the Institution were they put their children on. Added to that parents should
aware of their moral responsibilities and ambitious for their children.

In modern technology and today's generation of changing needs has brought and the demand for holistic
approach in learning. A Fountain Internal Schools (FIS), a institution following a holistic approach to
education ensure a fun and well-rounded learning environment for students. FIS believes that in
academic and other extra-curricular activities needs a full participation of parents. The parents supports
reflects on the students tend to become an achiever because they have full moral support from their
parents. By proper guidance of parents, student tend to be more attentive, more active in participating
discussions and more energetic in activities inside and outside of school. According to Kilicaslan, Parents
play a big role in every learning phase. The parents involvement have a great impact in childs
development that's why we always encourage parents to involve themselves and become active when it
comes to their child's school performance.

overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents". Aside from what she said,
there are also some recent researchers stated that parental involvement is the most accurate predictor
of scholastic achievement .

Not only the students will benefit to this, but the teachers and parents themselves . Here are some effect
on students. According to Southeast Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL), When schools, families
and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in
school longer and like school more. Thy also concluded these following benefits of parental involvement:

1 Higher grades and test scores, enrollment in more advanced programs

2 Grade promotions, earn more credits

3 Better school attendance and homework completion rates

4 Improve social skills and behavior allows students to acclimate better to school environments

5 Higher self- esteem

6 Higher school graduation and advancement to post-secondary education


Benefits to Parents: We all know that parents overwhelmed when they see their children active in
school, also when they see they are making high grades and accepting awards. Aside from it, by involving
parents themselves at the school and community levels, parents;

1 Interact with their children more and respond to their emotional and intellectual needs

2 Have more confidence in their parenting abilities.

3 Have a better understanding of the teachers role and the curriculum

4 Use more positive reinforcement the more they know about development stages

5 Feel more committed to their children's schools

6 Become more active in policy- making at school and in the community

Benefits to Teachers:

Teacher's effort are often thankless, they also play a vital role on a student's success, specially when
they join forces with the parents:

1 Teachers and administrators experience higher morale and job satisfaction

2 Communication improves among educators, parents, and administrators

3 School programs that involve parents perform better and offer quality.

When parents faster an atmosphere of learning and collaborate with educators, the entire educational
system benefits from students to teachers to parents themselves.
