The following Church employment opportunty exists within the Meetinghouse and Facilitites Department and is based in
Roodepoort, Johannesburg
Facilities Manager
(Gauteng West)
Summary and Description of Position
Responsible to manage the operation and maintenance of Church owned and rented facilities. The position
exists to maintain and extend the useful life of Church facilities and to support priesthood leaders in their
facility maintenance & care responsibilities. Help in providing a good environment for members to meet.
Required to travel.
Responsibilities
 Provides effective management to employees to perform assigned work to meet standards of
quality, cost and timeliness.
 Ensures all financial processes are followed in expenditures of funds.
 Secures contractors and vendors and ensures that work and services meet established
specifications.
 Communicates frequently with customers (Including Unit and Stake Leaders), employees, vendors
and contractors to develop and maintain effective relationships.
 Responds to unscheduled work within established response times
Requirements
 Degree or Diploma in Facilities Management or similar qualification OR a minimum of 5-7 years
related construction/maintenance experience (such as: Construction/ Project/ Property
Management).
 Must have a working knowledge of architectural, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and
acoustical disciplines, including relevant occupational health and safety requirements.
 Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-driven and be committed to results driven
performance.
 Must have proven front-line management skills in a multi-discipline work environment.
 Ability to communicate at a professional level both written and verbally to priesthood leaders,
contractors and vendors.
 Essential computer skills in Excel, Access & Microsoft Projects
 Good interpersonal and communication skills
 Proficiency in both written and spoken English
 Must hold a current/valid Temple Recommend
Salary and Benefits
A market related salary with usual employee benefits.
