 Language school for Karen community in Regina;
 An engaged child; and
 Creating opportunities.
Teaching activities

The Karen Language teaching curriculum is made by the school board committee's
members. It is because the Karen Language curriculum was well established in Thai-
Burma Border Refugee camps which our school used mostly all part of it. This kind of
teaching materials were made suitable for the students here in Regina because these
children Karen language is not a priority language at daily classroom which is English
only. Also, most teachers are experience teaching their own language decade in
Refugee camps so their knowledge of language and lesion plans are rich. These face to
face language classes took place two hours per week in every Saturday. All the teachers
work voluntarily for years. There are four different class graded base on level of
knowledge in Karen language. The grades started from Kindergarten, primary, grade1
and grade 2. After grade 2 students are able to read, write and speak Karen language
well.

Also, there are some teaching assistants predominantly youth who enrolled in college or
university to gain experiences in teaching.
