6) Australia Post recently had their postmen complete an employee satisfaction survey and discovered their
postmen were suffering low morale, which was negatively impacting on the attainment of organisational
objectives.
It appears their low morale is being caused by the following;
 In an attempt to increase efficiency, senior management at Australia Post recently introduced a
bonus system where postmen are rewarded non-financial rewards if they are able to complete
their mail runs within a prescribed time frame. However, postmen are complaining that the
system is dangerous as it encourages postmen to speed and ride recklessly in order to complete
their mail run in the prescribed time frame.
 The rapid increase in telecommunication, for example email and social media, is causing
traditional mail delivery to become obsolete. As a result, a significant number of postmen have
been retrenched and the remaining postmen report a feeling of low job security.
 The number of incidents of dog attacks has increased over the last financial year, with one
respondent quotes as saying, “At least one a week I am chased by unrestrained dog. Just last
week I was chased by two vicious Pomeranians that, despite ridding furiously, chased me for
three blocks and ripped two holes in my pants!”

The CEO has requested you complete a report on these findings. In particular you are to;
