assessment.

Student-Designed Infographic Poster (1oo/o)
Infographic is a visual presentation of information in a graphic format designed to make
it easily understandable at a glance. Therefore, it
will provide a medium to
communicate information to the audience effectively within a short time span and at
the same time, help to improve students' understanding on the focused topic which
they are working on.

Microsoft has recently discovered that the current human attention span is only B
seconds, so readers spend less time on reading than before. Therefore, the infographic
should have a focused, less cluttered, briefed, yet concise information. Attractive choice
of colours and designs are required to capture the readers' interest. The theme for the
semester is "Common Erors in English Grammar by Malaysian Students".

Infograp.hic Design Process

1. Create a group of 2-3 persons.
2. Do research on the given theme.
3. Choose a topic.
4. Submit a proposal for approval.
5. Sketch the idea on A4 paper.
6. Design the infographic using
a. apps such as easel.ly, piktochart, info.gram, visual.ly, or
b. Microsoft Office (Word /PowerPoint), or
c. Adobe Illustrator/ Photoshop.
7. Each infographic must meet the following requirements:
a. Infographic size : A3 (Poftrait/Landscape)
b. Include a combination of words, numbers, images, and graphics
c. Include links at the bottom for materials cited & images used
B. Submit hardcopy and softcopy of the designed infographic.
9. In-class presentation.

Guidelines for proposal

1. Cover page - standard format (refer Appendix 2).

2. JustiflT the topic chosen and explain the content of the infographic poster.
3. State at least 3 objectives for the topic.
4. Describe the work plan in completing the assessment (i.e. Gantt chart).

[For number 2 - 4, refer Appendix 3]

5. The proposal should be typed using Arial font type (size tZ) and 1.5 as
line/paragra ph spacing.

6. The length of the proposal should be approximately 2 - 3 pages.

7. Submission of proposal should be done before week 4.

Guidelines for sketch

1. The sketch is considered as a draft to the actual infographic poster.
2. The sketch is to be shown to the assessor for initial approval and it can be done
in handwritten form.
3. The sketch must be submitted a week after it is approved by the assessor
(typed, not handwritten).
4. Submission of the sketch should be done before week 5.
