difference between External and Internal IO?

Internal IO:
 Is an integration object that represents a subset of a Siebel business object
» Integration components represent business components
» Integration component fields represent business component fields
 Specifies the structure of the data extracted from or inserted into the Siebel application

External IO:

 Is an integration object that specifies the structure of the data that is transported between the
Siebel and the external application
 Is required only when the external application is not able to handle data in Siebel format (“Siebel
data”)

Following are the differences between Internal and External Integration Objects
Base Object Type:
 Internal Integration Object has base type as Siebel Business Object
 External Integration Object has base type as XML
EAI Siebel Adapter – Query Method:
 Internal Integration Object is used in Query Method of EAI Siebel Adapter BS.
 External Integration Object cannot be used with Query method of EAI Siebel Adapter BS.
Creation:
 Internal Integration Object is usually created through EAI Siebel Wizard
 External Integration Object is usually created while importing an External WSDL (based on EAI
XSD Wizard BS)
