1. Powerhouse Site:

1.1. Fire Fighting and Diesel Generator Rooms:

The concrete placement of fire fighting room slab and diesel generator tank &
generator room foundation has been completed by placing 33m3 concrete during the
month. The progress status is given in “Table B”.

2. Weir Site:

2.1 Weir Structure:

2nd stage concrete of bottom outlet # 3 & 4 has been completed upto El. 815.00 masl
by placing 205m3 concrete during the reported month. The progress status is given in
“Table B”.
All working activities have been suspended after heavy flood in Khan Khwar River.

3. Hydraulic steel works;

Weir Structure:

• Dry testing of Bottom outlet radial gate (WD3 &WD4) completed. Report awaited.

• Grinding of welding seam of circumferential joint of pressure tunnel is in progress.

Contract KE-04 Lot (E&M)
1- Powerhouse:-
1.1 11 KV Bus Bar:
The connectivity of 11 KV bus bar to the generator terminal of unit No. 01 has been completed
on 19-09-10.

1.2 Thrust Bearing Oil Purification:

Cleaning of thrust bearing oil line by circulating the oil to remove the suspended particles from
thrust bearing oil El. 573.40 of unit No1&2 has been completed.

1.3 Oil Handling Room:

Installation of valves on piping system has been completed whereas cabling work in the oil
handling distribution panel is in progress.

1.4 Water Treatment Room:

Remaining work of piping in the water treatment room has been completed.

1.5 HVAC Room:

Piping work in the HVAC equipment room has been completed whereas painting work on
piping lines and duct installation work is in progress

1.6 Fire Fighting System in Powerhouse:

The extension of fire fighting pipe to hydrant box installed at all locations in power house has
been completed

1.7 Erection of Rails for Draft Tube cone:

Erection / installation of rails for the draft tubes cone of Unit No. 1&2 has been completed and
ready for 2nd stage concreting by civil contractor

2- Auxiliary Unit:-
2.1 Turbine Generator Assembly:
The remaining piping work on turbine and generator along with cable termination work is in
progress.

2.2 Oil Purification:

Cleaning of thrust bearing oil line by circulating the oil through oil purifier to remove
suspended particles from thrust bearing oil has been completed on September 03, 2010.

3- Switchyard:-
3.1 Fire-Fighting Piping System:
Piping system, deluge valve and installation of distribution panel in the main fire fighting
control room has been completed.

4- Testing and Inspection:-

The following tests / inspection have been done jointly from September 15, 2010 to
September 23, 2010.

1. Excitation system for unit # 1.

2. Excitation system for unit # 2.
3. Governor and oil device for unit # 1.
4. Governor and oil device for unit # 2.
5. Dewatering system for powerhouse.
6. Cooling water supply system.

9. System for high pressure lifting rotor (Jack System) of unit # 1.

13. Inlet valve of unit # 1.
14. Fire fighting system for powerhouse.

The Contractor has advised to submit the formal results along with original data for review and
approval accordingly.
