This paradox – accessible to contemplation, but beyond the powers of ordinary

thinking – occurs in all revealed cosmologies. Physical science is able to perceive

the expansion of the galaxies from an initial point: Vedic, Buddhist and Kabbalist
sources speak in their own ways of the kalpas – the breathing in and out, of God,
over inconceivable spaces of time.
