Introduction
Thank you for utilizing STR’s new dSTAR product. This user guide will
provide you with all of the necessary details to navigate through the
platform. However, if you should run into any obstacles along the way, we
are here to help. Please report any bugs you encounter, feedback you have
or questions about the system to dstar@str.com.

What’s new?
The same data delivered in a new format
Instead of receiving an email with a processed Excel STAR Report attached,
you will receive an email that includes a link to a digital report.

You will continue to receive the same data, but you will be able to use that
data in a more intuitive way with new visualizations that enhance the report
format.

Accessing your dSTAR Report

In order to access your dSTAR Report online, please follow these steps:
1 Open the dSTAR Report email (please see sample below). Click the link
“see the full report” included in the email which will direct you to the
login page for the online tool. In order to receive the dSTAR Report
email, you are required to have your own username and password. If
you do not have a username and password, please contact
dstar@str.com to obtain your login credentials.
2 Enter your username and password.

3 Click Sign In. You now have access to your dSTAR Report.

3

to access your dSTAR Report for that property, or click and select your
desired property from the list.

Select a report to view:

FAQ
1 Will I still have access to the online reporting tool?
Yes, you will still be able to access the online reporting tool by using
your current STR login credentials.
2 Will the data be live like in the online reporting tool?
No, the information reported in the new digital format will not be live.
dSTAR will replace the emailed Excel reports, therefore, the data will be
not refreshed. You will receive reports—daily, weekly or monthly
depending on your participation.
3 Where can I see if the subject property is included or excluded in the
data?
On the bottom right-hand side of each page, you will see a note
indicating subject property inclusion or exclusion.

4 On the Dashboard view, how do I interpret the ranking bar?

The fuller the bar is, the higher your ranking. The less complete the bar is, the
lower your ranking.
5 On the dashboard view, how do I interpret the percentage change
arrows and colours?
Green (arrow up) means that your percentage change is positive and red
(arrow down) means your percentage change is negative, compared to
the same period the previous year.
6 How many dSTAR emails will I receive if I have access to multiple
property STAR Reports?
You will receive one daily/weekly/monthly email per property. For the
first release of dSTAR, you will not be able to manage the volume of
emails. If you have responsibility for multiple properties, you may want
to set up an automatic email rule.
7 How many historical daily, weekly and monthly dSTAR reports can I
view via the platform?
You will have access to 10 daily reports by day, up to one year of weekly
reports by week and up to one year of monthly reports by month.
8 How can I get a dSTAR Report re-run?
To get the report re-run, simply contact dstar@str.com. Once the
report is re-run, you will receive a new email. The new report will
replace the previous report.
