The chart illustrates the information about what types of transport foreign tourists who visit New

Zealand use to go around the country.

The proportion of holidaymakers using car to move around the country occupies the highest value with
nearly 70 percent, while both plane and coach are at the same position, which more than 30 percent of
visitors enjoy travelling by them. Futhermore, train is as popular as other types of transport, 20 percent
of people like to catch it. Compare with others, boat is the least common transport with a minority
number. Just approximately 5 percent of visitors are keen on using boat.

Overall, although the percentage of people using car is at a significant number, tourists prefer to use
public transport than private transport when they see New Zealand. In fact, the representative of
private transport has only car whereas public transport has plane, coach, train and boat. (150)
