Our trip in Pobra do Caraminal

We have just finished my Erasmus Plus in Spain, exactly in Galicia, a
wonderful place in the North West of Spain. On Sunday 22 we left Italy. We
were so excited to take the plane with our school friends.

This trip was not my first experience abroad but for Gabriella it was her
first flight, she was so scared!

Wonderful days there! The great week started with the welcoming ceremony
at Pobra do Caraminal school, Spanish students and their families and
teachers were very nice. We stayed at Raquel’s, her family were very
friendly and hospitable and it is composed of 4 people. Her father is called
George, her mother Ramona and 2 children. We were very well with them.

Interesting guided visits let us know amazing places: Barbanza peninsula,

famous for its fortified towns and megalitical monuments, the Castro de
Neixon , Pontevedra and Santiago de Compostela. We enjoyed sightseeing in
Pontevedra where I admired very important landmarks such as Mosteiro de
Santa mari’a de Armenteria and in Santiago de Compostela , a very
important religious site, we visited the Cathedral and the city centre.

Galicia’s economy is based on fishing and the visit of the Massò Museum,
was very interesting; we saw how they killed whales in the past and how
they processed and preserved fish.

We visited also a school where students learn food processing and its
preservation. We were shown the sterilization process, such as the vacuum
air process. We had a Catamaran trip, too, it was fantastic, we ate mussels,
what fun! The weather was good with us too,funny and warm days, no rain
luckily!

We come back home on Saturday 28 th, after a farewell dinner at Teraza

“The Chicolino”. We danced a typical Italian dance, called “tarantella”,
everybody enjoyed. It was an amazing farewell party, every country
danced traditional dances and we ate typical food.

We have to say thank you to my Spanish friends and we hope to meet them
again very soon!
