'On the genealogy of morals'”. A version of the

Objective
To produce an analytic-comparative study of
Nietzsche’s formulations concerning
“forgetfulness” in three works: “On the
Genealogy of Morals” (1887) [GM]; “On Truth
and Lie in an Extra-moral Sense” (1873) [OTL];
“Second Untimely Consideration: on the use
and disadvantage of history for life” (1874)
[2ªUn]. The central objective of this research is
to comprehend aspects of the conceptual
transformation of “forgetfulness”
(vergesslichkeit) along the texts, as well as to
understand it’s relations with other concepts in
each context, namely the concepts of
“ressentiment”, great health (große Gesunheit),
memory (Gedächtnis) and History (Historie and
Geschichte).
Materials and Methods
Meticulous reading of the selected works, using
an structural reading method.
Results
Until this moment, we have two finished
articles, plus one in conclusion phase. They are
titled, respectively: “Study on the notion of
forgetfulness in Nietzsche’s ‘On Truth and Lie in
an Extra-moral Sense”; “The anthropological
question of forgetfulness in Nietzsche’s ‘On the
Genealogy of Morals’”; “The psycological
ressentiment between forgetfulness and
memory: reading possibilities on Nietzsche's
last one will be presented at this symposium.
The study of the 2ªUn. is still on progress.
Conclusions
The notion of “forgetfulness” in Nietzsche’s
work undergoes almost no conceptual
transformations, strictly speaking. With its
relations with memory, forgetfulness is a
important concept to comprehend a central
aspect of Nietzsche’s philosophy: the interface
between life and History through the concept of
Physiopsychology.
