Introduction

• Education: Michigan State University

– Sophomore
– Major: Applied Engineering Sciences
– Graduated from Detroit Catholic Central in 2014

• Job: ATC Compressors Intern

• Hobbies: Playing guitar and drums, longboarding, and beach volleyball

• Why the sling?

– Broke my collarbone in a bike crash

2
First Month (May 18th - June 18th)

• Assembled prototype AC Compressors

• Cleaned and bagged parts for future use

• Measured compressor components and entered data into Excel sheets

• Ordered new parts and tools for proto room

3
First Month (May 18th - June 18th)

• Organized prototype area for higher efficiency

– Ordered and installed peg board and pegs for tools
– Labeled and organized part storage aisles, tear down room, and proto room

4
First Month (May 18th - June 18th)

• Analyzed individual part drawings to update build sheets and control chart with the
most recent and accurate specifications and tolerances

Part Drawings Control Chart

5
2nd Month (June 18th-July 18th)

• Began Six Sigma Greenbelt Project

• Project Title: A/C Compressor Prototype Build Cycle Time Reduction

– Goal: Address issues with the build process steps raised by lab technicians and
reduce the time it takes to complete those steps

• Issues Dealt With:

1) Height gauge measurements
2) Pre-build measurement process
3) Swashplate thickness measurements
