As a Friar how did Juan De Placensia describe the religious belief of the early
Filipinos?
According to the excerpt of Placensia,he describe early Filipino spiritual belief as
unique at the same time with the likeness to those country name at the excerpt.
The excerpt would conclude that the Filipino natives worshippedspirits, nature
and cosmic bodies that would involve science and religious belief at that time, he
also tells that even before the colonizers influenced us with Christianity our
ancestors have their own spiritual foundations. By their observation, our
ancestors has already a systematic way of worshipping deities, for they noticed
the infrastructure built by our ancestors for worshiping their gods which they
called simbahan they also observed the way of gathering and worshiping our
ancestor’s gods and deities. they have learned that our ancestors would give
respect and worshipped the spirits of their departed love ones like the Romans
did to their soldiers, the natives would also worshipped heavenly bodies which
the Spaniards uses to navigate while travelling unique in their side but not with
the Greeks in a short word Placensia can describe the old Filipino religious
beliefs as not systematic and organize as the Spaniards do have

2.How did Morga describe the religious belief of early Filipino?

Well as a high official of Spain and a judge, De Morga described the Natives beliefs
harshly and pulls insult, he state the natives was not knowing God and was blinded
by the devil which come in form of nature and through their religious leaders. He
stated that the natives are lacking knowledge of what they worshipped the sentence
“thousand errors and blindnesses…” is what he used in his excerpt, to him the
natives belief is not stable and very confusing not having the oneness and
dealingwith paganism of what the early Filipinosbelieves, compared with the
religious belief of theirs. We can also notice that the 2 ndparagraph of the excerpt
doesn’t agree with the first excerpt of De Placensia which state that natives has a
gathering place and organize way of worshipping. Thus it proves that they have
different perception upon observing the religious belief of the early Filipinos. the
negative observation of De Morgatowards the spiritual belief of the Filipinos helps us
to achieve the Christianity that we followed today.

3.How did Loarca describes the religious belief of the Pintados?

Well, the excerpt of this friar was more focused on the belief of origin of the pintados,by these he was
able to study the belief and religious custom of the natives, he put emphasis on the way of offering
andsacrificial giving of the pintados to thieridols he also noted the lacking of time and place for the
worship of our ancestors, maybe that time he was comparing the way of worship they have with our
ancestors, well they have quite decent and organize spiritual belief than ours that time, he also observe
the priestesses"baylanes" of that place, and state that the devil was hiding through the image of spiritual
leaders of the natives, that they would invoke demons and the spirits of the departed and they would
tend to see the future and answer thier question. To conclude his thought or point of view is that our
ancestors would trust and based thier lives and belief to thier misled and untrue beliefs and gods.

4.Was Chirino's description of early filipino religion influenced by other fiars?

Yes, We can noticed that his excerpt he state that the natives lives, cultureandbeliefs was based
spiritually,we can conclude that his excerpt was or can be a summary ofall the first three excerpt, for he
also said that all the deeds and belief spiritually and culturally was manifested by the devil, that the
conduct they did wasagainst the real God which they believed. We can said that he was influenced by
the friars for he was able to sum up the point of viewof all the first three friars. From the observation of
the physical religious stablnes,to the insult and negative feed back and understanding of his excerpt
which the previous three fiars did as well?
