Recommendation:
Replace the Serial Number 3 with respective Clause of Specifications 1-2 of Work Norms for Construction, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Rural Roads by above items of
works

Justifucation:
Dismantling work is used more in the maintenance of road and also often used in construction and rehabilitation works. It is also used in upgrading of the roads. The items of
works provided in S.No 3 having respective Specification Clause 1-2 does not indicate the type of brick and stone masonry to be dismantled. Also it is not clear for the
dismantling of flexible and rigid pavement, so dismentling of brick masonry and stone masonry are catagorised in two groups i) brick work in mud mortar and cememt mortar
and ii) stone masonry in dry masonry and cement mortar respectively. In addition to that items for dismantling of cement concrete is divided in two types i) Reinforced
Concrete and ii) Plane Cement Concrete similarly dismentaling of road pavement is provided in rigid and flexoible pavement. Flexible pavement is divided in two catagories
one WBM ie un-matelled surface and other of bituminous surface. Further more work items for dismentaling of RCC pipes as well as gabion structures are incorporated in
this item of works.

Brick work is carried out in mud mortar and cement mortar, similarly the
stone masonry in dry/mud mortared randam rubble and with cement
mortar. Likewise cement concrete work is either RCC or PCC. Hence,
dismantling of existing structure of above nature is also to be carried out
accordingly. The manpower shown in the changed items are as per the
Water bound macadom (WBM) and WBM with bituminous surfacing are
considered as flexible pavement and are treated as that of gravel/ boulder
mixed soil (hard soil). Whereas Cement concrete is a rigid pavenet and
treat as soft to hard rock according to its strength. Hence dismantling of
flexible and cement concrete pavement has to be dealt seperately. The
manpower shown in the changed items are as per the DoR Norms.

Manpower is replaced according to DoR Norms

Recommendation is made according to the DoR norms
