1) Fibroma consists of interlacing collagen fibers interspread
with varying number of fibroblasts and blood vessels. 2) The surface of the lesion is covered by a layer of stratified squamous epithelium which frequently appear stretched and shows shortening and flattening of the rete pegs. 3) Vasodilation, odema and inflammatory cell infiltrate are variably present. 4) Areas of diffuse or focal calcification are found on some fibromas.
