Mississippi corn for grain production is forecast at 87.0 million bushels, unchanged from the August 1 forecast but down
8 percent from 2017. Based on conditions as of September 1, yield is expected to average 185 bushels per acre, unchanged
from last month but down 4 bushels from last year. Producers expect to harvest 470,000 acres of corn for grain, down
30,000 acres from 2017.

Upland cotton production is forecast at 1.45 million bales, up 50,000 bales from the August 1 forecast and 99,000 bales
above last year. Yield is expected to average 1,132 pounds per harvested acre, down 79 pounds from last month but up
94 pounds from 2017. Planted acreage is revised to 620,000 acres, up 60,000 acres from June 2018. Harvested acreage is
revised from 555,000 to 615,000 acres.

Peanut production in 2018 is forecast at 96.0 million pounds, down 19 percent from the August 1 forecast and down
46 percent from last year. Based on September 1 conditions, yield is expected to average 4,000 pounds per acre, down
100 pounds from last month and down 100 pounds from last year. Area for harvest, at 24,000 acres, is down 19,000 acres
from 2017.

All rice production for the state is forecast at 10.1 million hundredweight, down 7 percent from the August 1 forecast but
up 20 percent from last year's production of 8.44 million hundredweight. Based on conditions as of September 1, the all
rice yield for 2018 is forecast at 7,300 pounds per acre, unchanged from last month but down 100 pounds from last year.
All rice planted acreage is revised to 140,000 acres, down 10,000 acres from June 2018. Harvested acreage for all rice is
revised to 139,000 acres, down 10,000 acres from June.

Sorghum for grain production in 2018 is forecast at 320,000 bushels, unchanged from the August 1 forecast but up
11 percent from a year ago. Based on September 1 conditions, yield is expected to average 80 bushels per acre, unchanged
from last month but up 8 bushels from 2017. Area for grain harvest, at 4,000 acres, is unchanged from 2017.

Soybean production in 2018 is forecast at 116 million bushels, unchanged from the August 1 forecast but up slightly from
last year. Based on September 1 conditions, yield is expected to average 53 bushels per acre, unchanged from last month
and unchanged from last year. Area for harvest, at 2.18 million acres, is up 10,000 acres from 2017.
