PROBLEM: SOLUTION:
Galvanic Reaction Chemically Coated Moog®
Causes Corrosion Universal Joints
To improve gas mileage and horsepower, vehicle manufacturers
have designed driveshafts made of aluminum or other lightweight
materials. These driveshafts utilize aluminum yokes. Aluminum
universal joint yokes are susceptible to corrosion caused by a
galvanic reaction that occurs when the aluminum yoke contacts
the steel u-joint.
