SCRIPT FOR DIALOGUE PRACTICE


(You are absolutely welcome to modify the scripts, more is better)

Characters:
1. Passenger/Guest (PG) (2)
2. Airline Officer (AO)
3. Customs Officer and/or Security-Check Officer (CO) (2)

AT THE CHECK-IN COUNTER


CO:
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, Sir/Ma’am. Can I see your ID and the ticket please?

PG:
Sure. Here's my ID and m ticket.

CO:
Thank you. You may proceed to the check-in counter.

AO:
Good Morning, sir/ma’am. Welcome to ….. What can I do for you?

PG 1:
Good Morning. My (father/brother/sister/wife/daughter/son/cousin) and I would like to check in for our
flight to … Here are our tickets.

AO:
Wait a moment, sir. Let me have a look at them. Hmmm….. OK, Flight …… to …… You will be boarding the
plane at …… and the take-off time will be at …. Let me prepare the boarding passes for both of you. First, I
need your ID card, Sir.

PG 1:
Oh, hold on. Here it is.

AO:
Ok, Mr. ………… What about your companion, Sir. What his/her name again?

PG 2:
My name is …….. Here’s my ID card.

AO:
Oh, alright, Sir/ma’am. Wait a moment. What seat would you like to have for the flight, Sir? The window seat
or the aisle seat?

PG 1/2:
(State your preference)

AO:
What about your baggage, Sir? Do you have any?

PG 1/2:
(State your condition and preference)

AO:
(If the baggage is more than 20 kg, you have to tell the passenger about extra fee of USD 10 per kilogram,
otherwise, just stick to common expression)
OK, Sir, here are your boarding passes. You will be sitting at … and …. You will be boarding from Gate … Is
there anything I can help you with, Sir?

PG 1/2:
(State if you have another questions or preference or requests, otherwise, stick to the common expression)

AO:
You are most welcome, Sir. Have a nice and safe flight.

PG 1/2:
Thank you, we really appreciate that.

AT THE BAGGAGE CHECKING MACHINE


CO:
Please take out your laptops and mobile phone and put it in this tray.

PG:
Alright.

CO:
You can proceed to the security check. Please remember to collect your items after the check.

PG:
