1. Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS)


has developed a mobile-based application
‘utsonmobile'. The application enables booking
and cancellation of unreserved tickets, issue,
and renewal of season and platform tickets and
other hosts of services.

2.  Ministry of Railways has launched Rail


MADAD (Mobile Application for Desired
Assistance During travel) Application to expedite and streamline
passenger grievance redressal.

1.  Private sector Karur Vysya Bank has


entered into a bancassurance partnership
with Aditya Birla Health to provide health
insurance services to customers. 

2.  RBI has eased investment norms for


foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in debt,
especially into individual large corporates.
This move is aimed at attracting more overseas flows and thereby help to
arrest recent fall in rupee and also lift recent fall in demand for corporate
bonds.

3.    As per new RBI directive, the NPA recognition for all MSMEs
(both registered and non-GST entities) will be 180 days – for dues
up to December 31, 2018. However, the relaxed NPA norms will be
brought back to 90 days – in a phased manner – starting January 1, 2019,
for GST registered MSMEs.

4. HDFC Bank to raise Rs 24,000 crore in foreign direct investment


(FDI) to fund its business growth. With the raising of this capital, FDI in the
bank would hit the regulatory ceiling of 74 percent.

services.

has decided to transfer its own in-house

Index as a useful tool to assess and improve the performance in the
efficient management of water resources. Gujarat has emerged the top
state in composite water management in the country.  Jharkhand, Haryana,
Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been the worst performers.

11.  The Union Cabinet has approved a postage stamp between


Department of Posts and Viet Nam Post. The jointly issued passport is
on the theme “Ancient Architecture”.
1.  The World Health Organisation (WHO) has
lauded India’s effort of reducing maternal
mortality ratio (MMR) by 77%, from 556
per 10000 live births in 1990 to 130 per
10000 live births in 2016.

Latvia after Latvia assumed chairmanship of

5. French Open Results: Rafael Nadal (Men’s singles category) defeated


Dominic Thiem in the finals. Simona Halep (women singles)  defeated
Sloane Stephens to win women’s singles title.

6.  The 2026 Football World Cup will be jointly held in the United
States, Mexico, and Canada.

7. Indian long-distance runner, Gavit Murli Kumar, clinched the Gold


medal in the Gouden Spike meet at Leiden, Netherlands.

8.  New Zealand batter Amelia Kerr created history recently when
she blasted highest unbeaten 232 against Ireland to become the
second woman to score an ODI double-hundred at Dublin.

9.  Recently Shikhar Dhawan became the first Indian to score a test
century before Lunch. He achieved the feat against Afghanistan.

10.  20th International Umakhanov boxing Tournament was held in


Kaspiysk, Russian Federation. Saweety Bora won gold, Brijesh Yadav,
and Virender Kumar won silver in men events.
