Greeting Monday: Approaches to Learning – initiative,
1. It is raining written, drawing of Outside Time schedule sign with no symbol and drawing of Special Time schedule sign with gym written, engagement, problem solving, reflection
Time explained how we’d be going to the gym if it continues to rain
2. New schedule signs written, drawing of Planning Time schedule sign and Recall Time schedule sign, explained how planning is where we discus Social/Emotional – sense of competence,
where we want to play and recall is where we talk about what we did emotions, empathy, community, building
3. Cleaning classroom written, photograph of toys all over, explained how if we leave toys on the ground people can trip over them and get hurt or that relationships, moral development
the toys can break, discussed how clean-up time is time for cleaning up and not playing

Tuesday: awareness
1. Running off written, drawing of student running off from the line, explained how it makes us sad when students run off and how it is dangerous
because we don’t know where students go, explained how we can always stay with a teacher, drew a no symbol to remember not to run off Language/Literacy/Communication –
2. Using play-doh written, photograph of students stepping on play-doh, explained how we noticed people dropping play-doh on the ground yesterday comprehension, speaking, vocabulary,
and stepping on it, stated how it ruins the carpet, students said that they can use the play-doh at the table and pick it up if it falls phonological awareness, alphabetic
3. Using soap written, photograph of a sink and of a child washing hands, explained how we’ve been sad to see students using lots of soap to wash knowledge, reading, concepts about print,

Wednesday: Mathematics – number words and symbols


1. Fire drill written, drawing of a stop sign, students lining up, and students exiting the building, discussed how fire drills are how we practice
evacuating the building in case there is a fire, stated how drop everything we are doing, line up, and exit building as fast as possible Creative Arts – N/A
2. Photograph of a fire extinguisher and of a fire alarm, drawing of a no touching symbol, explained how we can never touch these things
3. Problem solving written, photograph of toys dumped on the ground, explained how we’ve noticed people have been dumping toys on the ground Science/Technology – observing, drawing

Thursday: Social Studies – decision making, geography,


1. Tape and glue written, photograph of tape and glue, Art Area card, example of a piece of artwork, explained how we can use a little bit of glue and history
a little bit of tape to stick things together so we leave enough for everyone else and so we don’t waste it

you finish eating you can stay sitting at the table and wait for others to finish and not run off
3. Opening door written, drawing of a student opening a door and drawing of a teacher opening a door, explained how only teachers can open doors
due to safety purposes

Friday:
1. Talking to others written, photograph of students saying potty words, of students telling one another they don’t like each other, and of students
name calling, we explained how we should never say bad words, talk bad about others, or tell others that we dislike or hate them, explained if angry
at someone can walk away or talk to a teacher
2. Erasing board written, photograph of a board erased and of a board not erased, explained how we don’t erase the board, so we can remember what
the messages are each day
3. Artwork on wall written, drawing of Leia’s, explained how students can hang up their artwork in the classroom

Creative Arts – art
 Students were provided with scissors. They learned how to hold scissors and how to use scissors to cut paper. Students were given printer paper,
construction paper, and cardboard to cut. Students compared the sizes of the pieces of paper they cut. Also, they discussed what shapes they made Science/Technology – observing,
when they cut the pieces of paper. experimenting, predicting, drawing

 Students were provided with two different colors of paint and printer paper for finger painting. Students observed and stated what happened when
they mixed their two colors together (red and blue = purple, yellow and blue = green, red and yellow = orange, white and red = pink, etc.). Social Studies – decision making
