Rules of Contest

1. 3-5 minutes will be given to each speaker.


2. Marks will be deducted in case speaker read from the paper.
3. Marking will be done on following basis,
a. Content
i. Description of topic.
ii. Argumentation/ Knowledge
iii. Flow of speech and ideas
iv. Use of Language and Vocabulary
b. Presentation
i. Confidence
ii. Fluency and pronunciation
iii. Style and body Language
iv. Manners.
v. Ability to hold the attention of the crowd
4. Debate should exhibit flow of ideas and logics to support the argument.
5. Both participant and supporters should exhibit good manners and tolerance.
6. Proper discipline must be maintained by the students and it is the duty of the respective
teachers accompanying the students to uphold discipline. No cross talk or whispering should be
made during the event.
7. Booting/ Hooting is not allowed; any team/campus committing it will not be considered part of
competition.
8. Each team should reach at least 30 minutes before the given time at the venue and settle so
that the program may start on time.
9. Students will not be allowed to leave the hall until results are announced and contest is over.
10. Both participants and supporter students are advised to wear proper college uniform. Any
campus student if found without uniform, negative marking will be given for their contestants.
11. Student would be disqualified from the contest at once if he/she uses slang language.
12. Speech should be originally prepared by the speaker, if found otherwise i.e. copied from
internet or some book etc. speaker will be debarred from the competition.
13. Decision taken by the jury will be considered as final.
