Wisdom 106
Introduction from Joyce Meyer

God’s Word is filled with treasures and promises that bring life, love and
change into our lives. As we learn to take part in the promises God has for
us in His Word, it will not only bring us into a more intimate relationship with
Him, but transform us for God’s plan to come to pass in our lives.

In this booklet, I wanted to give you 99 of the countless Bible promises that
have made such an impact in my life.

The Lord told me years ago to put the Word of God into my mouth and
speak out His promises over my life.

These promises are listed in the top 20 categories I feel people will need
the most at various times in their lives, and I suggest that you use them
frequently. Confessing the Word on a regular basis is like taking medicine
when you’re sick.
My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let
them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their
flesh. — Proverbs 4:20-22

These scriptures tell us that God’s Word works in us like medicine works in
the body of a sick person.

You can confess the Word in any area simply to keep it alive in your heart.
Confess it for maintenance or for strength in specific areas. You can also
choose sections to confess and meditate on where you are having problems.
For example, if you have trouble with losing your patience, you can open this
booklet to the section on patience and make it a matter of study, confession
and meditation. Or, if you are struggling with forgiveness, spend time
confessing the promises in the section on forgiveness.
The Word is like medicine and is most effective when applied properly. If I
have a headache, I don’t put a Band-Aid on my head. If I cut myself, I don’t
put an aspirin in the cut. We know how to apply medicine in the natural
and should learn to do so spiritually. If I wake up feeling extremely anxious
and worried, it may not help me to listen to a teaching or read a book on
prosperity and success right then. Instead, I need some promises about
freedom from anxiety, worry and fear.

If you apply the Word to your life just as you would medicine to a wound,
you will be amazed at the power God will unleash in your life.

I believe this booklet is just the beginning for you; it’ll help you begin your
new life of meditating on and confessing God’s Word out loud on a regular
basis. These promises are meant to provide a foundation for you, but you
should add those that are pertinent to your own life and situations.
I want to reiterate how important this principle and spiritual discipline has
been in my own life. I sincerely pray you will not just read this booklet and
put it on a shelf. I encourage you to use it daily. It will strengthen your faith
and the joy of witnessing many manifestations of God’s goodness and power.

Second Corinthians 1:20 reminds us, For as many as are the promises of God,
they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ].... All of God’s promises are
available to you. When we confess these promises over our lives, we don’t
do it just to meet our needs — we do it to grow closer to Jesus and to walk
deeper in our relationship with Him. May these promises from God bless you
and bring you into everything He has for your life in Christ.

Anxiety & Worry

In the day of my trouble I will call to

you, for you will answer me.

PSALM 86:7 (NIV)

13
Anxiety & Worry

Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are

we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have
to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? For the
Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek
all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well
that you need them all. But seek (aim at and strive after)
first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of
doing and being right), and then all these things taken
together will be given you besides.

MATTHEW 6:31-33

14
Anxiety & Worry

So do not worry or be anxious about

tomorrow, for tomorrow will have
worries and anxieties of its own.
Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

MATTHEW 6:34

15
Anxiety & Worry

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,

by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present
your requests to God. And the peace of God, which
transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus.

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7 (NIV)

16
Anxiety & Worry

Casting the whole of your care [all

your anxieties, all your worries, all your
concerns, once and for all] on Him, for
He cares for you affectionately and cares
about you watchfully.

1 PETER 5:7

17
Discouragement & Despair

But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,

my glory, and the lifter of my head.

PSALM 3:3

18
Discouragement & Despair

Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every

trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also
be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who
are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort
(consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves
are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:4

19
Discouragement & Despair

We are hard pressed on every

side, but not crushed; perplexed,
but not in despair; persecuted,
but not abandoned; struck down,
but not destroyed.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:8-9 (NIV)

20
Discouragement & Despair

I have strength for all things in

Christ Who empowers me [I am
ready for anything and equal to
anything through Him Who infuses
inner strength into me; I am self-
sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

PHILIPPIANS 4:13

21
Faith & Hope

So faith comes from hearing, that is,

hearing the Good News about Christ.

ROMANS 10:17 (NLT)

22
Faith & Hope

. . . Let us draw near with a true heart in full

assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from
an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure
water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope
without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

HEBREWS 10:22- 23 (NKJV)

23
Faith & Hope

Now faith is being sure of what we

hope for and certain of what we do
not see. . . . By faith we understand
that the universe was formed at God’s
command, so that what is seen was not
made out of what was visible.

HEBREWS 11:1, 3 (NIV)

24
Faith & Hope

May the God of your hope so fill you

with all joy and peace in believing
[through the experience of your faith]
that by the power of the Holy Spirit
you may abound and be overflowing
(bubbling over) with hope.

ROMANS 15:13

25
Faith & Hope

By having the eyes of your heart

flooded with light, so that you can
know and understand the hope to
which He has called you, and how
rich is His glorious inheritance in the
saints (His set-apart ones) . . .

EPHESIANS 1:18

26
Family & Relationships

. . . As for me and my house, we will

serve the Lord.

JOSHUA 24:15

27
Family & Relationships

Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life,

a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is
established [on a sound and good foundation], and by
knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled
with all precious and pleasant riches.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

28
Family & Relationships

And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I deposit

you in His charge, entrusting you to His protection
and care]. And I commend you to the Word of His
grace [to the commands and counsels and promises
of His unmerited favor]. It is able to build you up
and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all
God’s set-apart ones (those consecrated, purified,
and transformed of soul).

ACTS 20:32

29
Family & Relationships

May blessing (praise, laudation, and

eulogy) be to the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)
Who has blessed us in Christ with
every spiritual (given by the Holy
Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!

EPHESIANS 1:3

30
Family & Relationships

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs)

from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is
begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively]
to know and understand God [to perceive and
recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of
Him]. . . . Beloved, if God loved us so [very much], we
also ought to love one another.

1 JOHN 4:7, 11

31
Family & Relationships

May the LORD bless you and

protect you. May the LORD smile
on you and be gracious to you.
May the LORD show you his favor
and give you his peace.

NUMBERS 6:24-26 (NLT)

32
Favor & Grace

By Your favor, O Lord, You have

established me as a strong
mountain . . .

PSALM 30:7

33
Favor & Grace

So shall you find favor, good

understanding, and high esteem in the
sight [or judgment] of God and man.

PROVERBS 3:4

34
Favor & Grace

Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly

draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s
unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive
mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good
time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed
help, coming just when we need it].

HEBREWS 4:16

35
Favor & Grace

For the Lord God is a Sun and

Shield; the Lord bestows [present]
grace and favor and [future] glory
(honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)!
No good thing will He withhold from
those who walk uprightly.

PSALM 84:11

36
Favor & Grace

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that

you are saved (delivered from judgment and made
partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith.
And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own
doing, it came not through your own striving], but it
is the gift of God.

EPHESIANS 2:8

37
Fear & Insecurity

Yes, though I walk through the

[deep, sunless] valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear or
dread no evil, for You are with
me; Your rod [to protect] and Your
staff [to guide], they comfort me.

PSALM 23:4

38
Fear & Insecurity

For God has not given us a spirit of

fear and timidity, but of power, love,
and self-discipline.

2 TIMOTHY 1:7 (NLT)

39
Fear & Insecurity

There is no fear in love [dread

does not exist], but full-grown
(complete, perfect) love turns fear
out of doors and expels every
trace of terror!

1 JOHN 4:18

40
Fear & Insecurity

But whoso hearkens to me [Wisdom]

shall dwell securely and in confident
trust and shall be quiet, without fear
or dread of evil.

PROVERBS 1:33

41
Fear & Insecurity

Fear not, for I am with you; be

not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will
help you, I will uphold you with
My righteous right hand.

ISAIAH 41:10 (NKJV)

42
Fear & Insecurity

The Lord is my Light and my Salvation

— whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord
is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life
— of whom shall I be afraid?

PSALM 27:1

43
Finances

But remember the Lord your God,

for it is he who gives you the ability
to produce wealth, and so confirms
his covenant, which he swore to
your forefathers, as it is today.

DEUTERONOMY 8:18 (NIV)

44
Finances

The young lions lack food and

suffer hunger, but they who seek
(inquire of and require) the Lord
[by right of their need and on the
authority of His Word], none of
them shall lack any beneficial thing.

PSALM 34:10

45
Finances

Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure,

pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will
they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of
your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you
deal out [with the measure you use when you confer
benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.

LUKE 6:38

46
Finances

Your prayers and gifts to the

poor have come up as a memorial
offering before God.

ACTS 10:5 (NIV)

47
Finances

And my God will liberally supply (fill to

the full) your every need according to
His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

PHILIPPIANS 4:19

48
Finances

Beloved, I pray that you may

prosper in all things and be in
health, just as your soul prospers.

3 JOHN 1:2 (NKJV)

49
Forgiveness

Condemn not, and you shall not

be condemned. Forgive, and you
will be forgiven.

LUKE 6:37 (NKJV)

50
Forgiveness

Blessed and happy and to be envied are those whose

iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered up
and completely buried. Blessed and happy and to be
envied is the person of whose sin the Lord will take
no account nor reckon it against him.

ROMANS 4:7-8

51
Forgiveness

And become useful and helpful and

kind to one another, tenderhearted
(compassionate, understanding,
loving-hearted), forgiving one
another [readily and freely], as God
in Christ forgave you.

EPHESIANS 4:32

52
Forgiveness

Be gentle and forbearing with one

another and, if one has a difference
(a grievance or complaint) against
another, readily pardoning each other;
even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven
you, so must you also [forgive].

COLOSSIANS 3:13

53
Forgiveness

If we confess our sins, He is

faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. If we say that we
have not sinned, we make Him a
liar, and His word is not in us.

1 JOHN 1:9-10 (NKJV)

54
Goodness of God

O taste and see that the Lord

[our God] is good! Blessed
(happy, fortunate, to be
envied) is the man who trusts
and takes refuge in Him.

PSALM 34:8

55
Goodness of God

The Lord is good to all,

and His tender mercies
are over all His works [the
entirety of things created].

PSALM 145:9

56
Goodness of God

Seek your happiness in the Lord, and

he will give you your heart’s desire.
Give yourself to the Lord; trust in
him, and he will help you; he will
make your righteousness shine like
the noonday sun.

PSALM 37:4-6 (GNT)

57
Goodness of God

For I know the thoughts and plans

that I have for you, says the Lord,
thoughts and plans for welfare and
peace and not for evil, to give you
hope in your final outcome.

JEREMIAH 29:11

58
Goodness of God

. . . As the Scripture says, What eye has not seen

and ear has not heard and has not entered into the
heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and
keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him
in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and
gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].

1 CORINTHIANS 2:9

59
Health & Healing

He sends forth His word and heals

them and rescues them from the
pit and destruction.

PSALM 107:20

60
Health & Healing

I shall not die but live, and shall

declare the works and recount the
illustrious acts of the Lord.

PSALM 118:17

61
Health & Healing

He heals the brokenhearted and

binds up their wounds [curing
their pains and their sorrows].

PSALM 147:3

62
Health & Healing

Then shall your light break forth like

the morning, and your healing (your
restoration and the power of a new
life) shall spring forth speedily . . .

ISAIAH 58:8

63
Health & Healing

For I will restore health to you,

and I will heal your wounds,
says the Lord . . .

JEREMIAH 30:17

64
Health & Healing

He personally bore our sins in His

[own] body on the tree [as on an
altar and offered Himself on it], that
we might die (cease to exist) to sin
and live to righteousness. By His
wounds you have been healed.

1 PETER 2:24

65
Patience

I waited patiently and expectantly

for the Lord; and He inclined to me
and heard my cry.

PSALM 40:1

66
Patience

And let us not lose heart and grow

weary and faint in acting nobly and
doing right, for in due time and at
the appointed season we shall reap,
if we do not loosen and relax our
courage and faint.

GALATIANS 6:9

67
Patience

[We pray] that you may be invigorated and

strengthened with all power according to the might
of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and
patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy,
giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and
made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance
of the saints (God’s holy people) in the Light.

COLOSSIANS 1:11-12

68
Peace

When a man’s ways are pleasing

to the LORD, he makes even his
enemies live at peace with him.

PROVERBS 16:7 (NIV)

69
Peace

You will guard him and keep him in

perfect and constant peace whose
mind [both its inclination and its
character] is stayed on You, because
he commits himself to You, leans on
You, and hopes confidently in You.

ISAIAH 26:3

70
Peace

Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and

bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to
you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them
be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and
disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and
intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

JOHN 14:27

71
Peace

Now may the Lord of peace Himself

grant you His peace (the peace of
His kingdom) at all times and in all
ways [under all circumstances and
conditions, whatever comes].

2 THESSALONIANS 3:16

72
Peace

Strive to live in peace with everybody

and pursue that consecration and
holiness without which no one will
[ever] see the Lord.

HEBREWS 12:14

73
Protection

And you shall be secure and feel

confident because there is hope;
yes, you shall search about you,
and you shall take your rest in
safety. You shall lie down, and
none shall make you afraid. . .

JOB 11:18-19

74
Protection

For You are my hiding place; you

protect me from trouble. You
surround me with songs of victory.

PSALM 32:7 (NLT)

75
Protection

. . . I trust in and confidently rely on the loving-

kindness and the mercy of God forever and ever. I will
thank You and confide in You forever, because You have
done it [delivered me and kept me safe]. I will wait on,
hope in and expect in Your name, for it is good . . .

PSALM 52:8-9

76
Protection

He who dwells in the secret place of

the Most High shall abide under the
shadow of the Almighty. I will say of
the LORD, “He is my refuge and my
fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

PSALM 91:1-2 (NKJV)

77
Protection

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,

even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil
shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your
dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you,
to keep you in all your ways.

PSALM 91:9-11 (NKJV)

78
Receiving God’s Love

I love those who love me, and

those who seek me early and
diligently shall find me.

PROVERBS 8:17

79
Receiving God’s Love

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world

that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son,
so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies
on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost)
but have eternal (everlasting) life.

JOHN 3:16

80
Receiving God’s Love

I have loved you, [just] as the

Father has loved Me; abide in My
love [continue in His love with Me].

JOHN 15:9

81
Receiving God’s Love

Such hope never disappoints or

deludes or shames us, for God’s
love has been poured out in our
hearts through the Holy Spirit
Who has been given to us.

ROMANS 5:5

82
Receiving God’s Love

And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious

of, by observation and by experience) and believe
(adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God
cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and
continues in love dwells and continues in God, and
God dwells and continues in him.

1 JOHN 4:16

83
Self-Control

A hot-tempered man stirs up

dissension, but a patient man
calms a quarrel.

PROVERBS 15:18 (NIV)

84
Self-Control

He who is slow to anger is better

than the mighty, he who rules his
[own] spirit than he who takes a city.

PROVERBS 16:32

85
Self-Control

Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but

not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient
and profitable when considered with other things).
Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave
of anything or be brought under its power.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:12

86
Self-Control

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in

the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion,
kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be
even-tempered, content with second place, quick to
forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely
as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what
else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose
garment. Never be without it.

COLOSSIANS 3:12-14 (MSG)

87
Stress

Commit your way to the Lord

[roll and repose each care of
your load on Him]; trust (lean on,
rely on, and be confident) also in
Him and He will bring it to pass.

PSALM 37:5

88
Stress

He gives power to the faint and

weary, and to him who has no might
He increases strength [causing it to
multiply and making it to abound].

ISAIAH 40:29

89
Stress

It is vain for you to rise up early,

to take rest late, to eat the bread
of [anxious] toil — for He gives
[blessings] to His beloved in sleep.

PSALM 127:2

90
Stress

My desire is to have you free from

all anxiety and distressing care.

1 CORINTHIANS 7:32

91
Stress

Casting the whole of your care

[all your anxieties, all your
worries, all your concerns, once
and for all] on Him, for He cares
for you affectionately and cares
about you watchfully.

1 PETER 5:7

92
Taking Care of Your Body

Worship the Lord your God,

and his blessing will be on your
food and water. I will take away
sickness from among you . . .

EXODUS 23:25 (NIV)

93
Taking Care of Your Body

Be not wise in your own eyes;

reverently fear and worship the
Lord and turn [entirely] away from
evil. It shall be health to your
nerves and sinews, and marrow
and moistening to your bones.

PROVERBS 3:7-8

94
Taking Care of Your Body

Hear, my son, and receive my

sayings, and the years of your life
will be many.

PROVERBS 4:10 (NKJV)

95
Taking Care of Your Body

My son, attend to my words; consent

and submit to my sayings. Let them
not depart from your sight; keep
them in the center of your heart. For
they are life to those who find them,
healing and health to all their flesh.

PROVERBS 4:20-22

96
Taking Care of Your Body

Do you not know that your body is the temple (the

very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within
you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from
God? You are not your own, you were bought with
a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid
for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring
glory to Him in your body.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:19,20

97
Trust

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord

is tried. He is a Shield to all those who trust and take
refuge in Him. For who is God but the Lord? And who is
a Rock except our God? God is my strong Fortress; He
guides the blameless in His way and sets him free.

2 SAMUEL 22:31-33

98
Trust

Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have

confidence in Him at all times, you
people; pour out your hearts before
Him. God is a refuge for us (a
fortress and a high tower).

PSALM 62:8

99
Trust

When I am afraid, I will trust in

you. In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I will not be afraid.
What can mortal man do to me?

PSALM 56:3-4 (NIV)

100
Trust

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with

all your heart and mind and do not rely on your
own insight or understanding. In all your ways
know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He
will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and
worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.
It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and
marrow and moistening to your bones.

PROVERBS 3:5-8

101
Trust

. . . We have [fixed our] hope on

the living God, Who is the Savior
(Preserver, Maintainer, Deliverer) of all
men, especially of those who believe
(trust in, rely on, and adhere to Him).

1 TIMOTHY 4:10

102
Waiting on God and His Timing

. . . I trusted in, relied on, and was

confident in You, O Lord; I said,
You are my God. My times are in
Your hands . . .

PSALM 31:14-15

103
Waiting on God and His Timing

The eyes of all wait for You [looking,

watching, and expecting] and You
give them their food in due season.
You open Your hand and satisfy every
living thing with favor.

PSALM 145:15-16

104
Waiting on God and His Timing

And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting,

looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and
therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have
mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy,
fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly]
wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him
[for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy,
and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!

ISAIAH 30:18

105
Waiting on God and His Timing

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look
for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their
strength and power; they shall lift their wings and
mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to
the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall
walk and not faint or become tired.

ISAIAH 40:31

106
Waiting on God and His Timing

If it seems slow in coming, wait

patiently, for it will surely take
place. It will not be delayed.

HABAKKUK 2:3 (NLT)

107
Wisdom

The reverent fear and worship of

the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom
and skill [the preceding and the first
essential, the prerequisite and the
alphabet]; a good understanding,
wisdom, and meaning have all those
who do [the will of the Lord].
PSALM 111:10

108
Wisdom

For skillful and godly Wisdom is

better than rubies or pearls, and
all the things that may be desired
are not to be compared to it.

PROVERBS 8:11

109
Wisdom

If any of you is deficient in wisdom,

let him ask of the giving God [Who
gives] to everyone liberally and
ungrudgingly, without reproaching or
faultfinding, and it will be given him.

JAMES 1:5

110
Wisdom

Hear counsel, receive instruction,

and accept correction, that you
may be wise in the time to come.

PROVERBS 19:20

Prayer of Salvation

Today, with all your heart, surrender your life to Jesus Christ. Confess your
sins. Ask God to forgive you. Say that you’ll trust in Jesus, and thank Him for
the gift of everlasting life. You can pray this prayer now:

“Father, I know that I have sinned against You. Please forgive me. Wash me
clean. I promise to trust in Jesus, Your Son. I believe that He died for me —
He took my sin upon Himself when He died on the cross. I believe that He
was raised from the dead. I surrender my life to Jesus right now.

Thank You, Father, for Your gift of forgiveness and eternal life. Please help
me to live for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
As you have prayed from your heart, God has received you, cleansed you
and made you free from the bondage of spiritual death. Take time to read
and study these scriptures and ask God to speak to you as you walk with
Him through this journey in your new life.
