“Creating and maintaining a cohesive brand.”

The Mandelstam School Style Guide revised August 2018

Preface
The information contained within this style guide serves to represent
The Mandelstam School’s branding and visual identity. As The
Mandelstam School constantly evolves, our style guide will change to
reflect this growth.

Please be aware that the standards and instruction set forth in this
document may be updated to reflect any future changes. All new
material will be made available by The Mandelstam School.

Introduction
The Mandelstam School has developed a style guide with the intent to
reinforce immediate and positive recognition for itself as a brand.

In an increasingly digital world, a school’s branding should to evoke

the sense of community and cohesiveness that The Mandelstam
School strives to create. To achieve success, the cooperation and
support of the entire TMS community is necessary in order to
maintain a consistent image.

Essential Standards
The Mandelstam School visual guidelines consist of three central
components: our logos, our color palette, and our typographic style.

Our Logos
There will probably be applications where The Mandelstam School
will be represented solely by its logo. For that reason, care must
always be taken to preserve the integrity of TMS logos, especially
because the artwork is supplied and most often used digitally.

No attempt should be made to distort the horizontal and vertical

proportions of the logos. They must not be angled, superimposed over
other school symbols, or employed in close proximity to other
symbols or the names or logos that are not affiliated with TMS. The
color scheme of any TMS logo should not be altered.

The three official TMS logos are shown below.

integrity of The Mandelstam School’s logos.

Do not alter the logos in any way.

Do not distort the logos.

Do not use poor quality versions of the logos.

Do not use logos in line with text.

Color Palette
The Mandelstam School’s color palette serves to provide a strong
medium of visual recognition.

TMS has two main colors: TMS Green and TMS Yellow.

TMS has two accent colors: TMS Gray and TMS Purple. These colors
are to be used in accents only, and should not overpower the main
colors.

Of course, black and white are also acceptable TMS colors.

The colors provided are valid in all instances where the RGB color
scheme is acceptable. In the case that the color is invalid for a certain
medium, the closest available color is also acceptable.

TMS Yellow R241 G188 B71
TMS Purple R95 G49 B109

Typography
Perhaps the most visible facet of style, TMS’s typography is present in
all written communication.

The combination of serif and sans serif typefaces allows for flexibility
in producing a range of materials. In most cases, typography should be
set aligned left and ragged right, in capital and lowercase letters. Any
bolded, italics, or underlined versions of acceptable fonts are also
acceptable for use.
