How is the model different form the real thing?

Models are just a representation or simply a dummy, an imitation of a real and original object
intended to be used as a practical substitute of the real thing. First of all, it is usually built to scale. Its
essence is purely for further studying and a visual representation. It may not possess the exact
components of the real thing but it exhibits a similar behavior, properties and some details from the
actual thing. Thus, a lower quality of representing reality.

Why are model and simulations useful?

Models and simulations are used in attempt to further study and comprehend the actual thing
without the difficulties and risks from it. Using these, we are able to visualize the phenomenon or
process that occurs and its behavior that’s similar to the actual thing. There are such things that’s not
possible to acquire enough knowledge from given its big scale, risks, technicalities and lack of necessary
instruments and when situations like this arise, models and simulations are helpful in studying its
characteristics, understanding and presenting it in an easier and simpler way.
