Samples containing more than 2.5 mg/l Zn must be diluted with distilled
prior to digestion.

Spectroquant® • The pH must be within the range 4 - 10.

Zinc Test Zn Adjust, if necessary, with sodium hydroxide solution or sulfuric acid.
• Filter turbid samples.
7. Procedure
1. Method
Pretreated sample 5.0 ml Pipette into a test tube.
In alkaline solution zinc ions react with a pyridylazonaphthol derivative to form a (10 - 35 °C)
red complex. This is extracted and then determined photometrically. Reagent Zn-1 5 drops 1)
Add and mix.
The pH must be above 12.
2. Measuring range and number of determinations Check with MColorpHastTM universal indicator
strips. Adjust the pH, if necessary, with sodium
hydroxide solution.
