Masters of Social Work in Dalit and Tribal Studies and Action

Field Work Evaluation Form

Third Semester

Fieldwork Objectives:

1. To develop methods of working in partnership where there are differences


in power, caste, ethnicity, gender, age, culture and other differences in
status.
2. To develop the ability to recognize and value the expertise/experience of
individuals, families, groups and communities of Dalit and Tribe groups.
3. To develop an awareness of discrimination, social disadvantage, prejudice
and differing forms of oppression
4. To develop strategies that challenge oppression, discrimination, exclusion,
disadvantage and other forms of inequality/injustice based on caste and
tribe background.
5. To evidence in practice the ability to listen, respect and promote the views
and wishes of oppressed/service users within the context of engagement
either in social movements, peoples organizations or State Departments.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of fieldwork, students should be able, at threshold


level, to:

1. Understand how to make use of existing and potential networks to reduce


discrimination and social exclusion based on caste or tribe.
2. Understand the importance of personal values and the impact they may
have on practice
3. Analyze skills required to balance the remits, powers and resources of
organisations with the views and wishes of service users.
4. Apply various methods of challenging through practice, discrimination,
exclusion and social disadvantage
5. Apply theoretical knowledge of social justice to practice with dalits and
tribes

EVALUATION FORM

PART A

(i)How many days were spent in the field carrying out specific activities as
assigned by the field contact. Please account for every day over the five weeks
period.

(ii)What were the Issues and Projects that you had taken up. Describe the
Activity/activities in detail (Add extra sheets if needed)

(iii)For each of the field activity taken up, what is the status of each of these
activities as on the last date of field work. Also state clearly the commitment
given to organisation regarding completion of any activity post field work.

(iv)State clearly all documents prepared for the agency and attached the same
with this evaluation form as part of your SOP. What was the feedback of the
agency supervisors on the quality of the documents prepared by you.

(v)What were the other activities that you carried out other than those assigned
by the field work agency

PART B

1. Assimilating information about organization, issues, sector of work,


theoretical paradigms, cultural context and development process:
