A Vision Becomes Reality
In the fall of 1999, Clemson University developed an ambitious new
vision. This new vision built on a much older one, that of our founder,
Thomas Green Clemson. Mr. Clemson dreamed of creating a “high
seminary of learning” on the land he had inherited from his wife,
Anna Calhoun Clemson, daughter of pre-eminent S.C. statesman
John C. Calhoun.
Our Mission Statement
This new vision created the National Scholars Program (NSP) to
Clemson’s National Scholars Program (NSP) works in collaboration with other
