PREFACE

With all the praise and thanks to God the Almighty, who has

given His blessing and mercy to the writer so that a paper entitled “MY

DAILY ACTIVITIES” can finish well. The paper is structured to meet one

of the English lesson task of 8th grade at MTs Sindangraja,

Tasikmalaya.

In finishing this paper, the writer would like to gives regards and

thanks to:

1. My smart teacher who has given me her guidance to write


and finishing this individual text.
2. My friends who has given idea and all guidance for finishing
this individual text.
Finally, the writer realizes there are unintended errors in writing
this individual task. Therefore, we expect criticism and constructive
suggestions to further refine the writing of this paper. Finally, we hope

CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

English lessons are appropriately becoming a great attention by

school. So far, most of the opinions expressed by students, that the

English subjects are difficult subjects for them. It is not uncommon that

students do not go on this subject. On the other hand, sometimes

students just being passive while learning the English language, in the

sense of sitting still and not knowing what is being studied.

Improving English skills enables you communicate effectively.

Writing is probably the most avoided task of the four basic language

skills (Listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Usually, most of us are

unwilling to write daily.

By writing daily activities, you get to know the best words to use

in various contexts. Arranging ideas in a logical order (Introduction,

Presenting ideas, Conclusion), and Creating a quick mind map of what

you should write.

When you are asked to write about your daily life or daily

activities, you can try to include some of the following points:

1. That you are a student.

2. When do you get up.

3. How do you start your day.

4. When do you go to school.

5. How do you go to school.

6. When do you return home.

7. What do you do after that.

8. When do you go to bed.

9. What do you do on holidays.

10. Anything else that you want to include to make your work

outstanding.

DISCUSSION

Daily life or daily activities means a routined life. It consist of

activities in the morning, activities at school, activities in the afternoon,

and activities in the evening.

1. Daily Activities at Home.

3. Other Daily Activities (What are some other daily activities that

you do?)

4. Weekly Activities (What are some weekly activities that you

do?)

My daily routine (present simple tense for describing habits

and routines)

Present Simple Tense is the most basic structure in English

grammar and it is useful to express our ideas. We use the Simple

Present Tense to talk about habits and routines.

Look at this example of daily activities and see how Present

Simple is used to describe common activities (routines) in an

ordinary day.

This is an example on how to write ten sentences daily routine in


English :

My Daily Activities

My name is Adam. I always wake up at 5 o’clock in the morning

then I wash my face and brush my teeth. After that, I do some exercises

then I take a bath. Next, I put my clothes on and prepare my school bag.

Then, I have my breakfast and wait for the school bus. At 6.30 o’clock, I

go to school and start my first class then I go to the second class. After

that, I often take my lunch break and talk with my friends. At around 12

noon I go back home and take a rest. Next, I usually watch some TV and

chat with my family then I do my homework and help my mother in the

house. At 9 o’clock I read a book and go to sleep.

My Daily Activities

Every morning from Monday to Saturday, I get up at 6 o'clock.

After breakfast, I go to school by bicycle. It takes me about 20 minutes

from my house to my school. Usually, I study at school until 11:30 a.m. I

back home at noon to have lunch with my family.

In the afternoon, I attend English and computer courses. I always

get home just in time for dinner at 5:30 p.m. After dinner, while my

parents are watching television in the living-room, I read books or

prepare for school in my room.

I am free at weekends. On Sunday mornings, I get up later than

usual. Then, I often go playing with my friends. Sometimes we go for a

picnic in the countryside. On rainy Sundays, I stay at home reading books

and listening to music. I am quite happy with my daily activities.

DAILY ROUTINE VERBS

1. Daily Activities In The Morning:


o On Weekdays I usually wake up at 6 am.
o I stay in bed about 10 minutes before I get up.
o I wash my face and take a shower.
o Then I dry and comb my hair.
o I have a breakfast at around 6.30.
o After breakfast I brush my teeth.
o I put on make up.
o I get dressed.
o I leave home at around 7.00.

2. Daily Activities Outside:


o I take a bus to work.
o I arrive work at around 9.30.
o I have a cup of coffee while I read the newspaper.
o Then I check my emails and file my papers.
o I usually make some telephone calls.
o Then I report to my boss.
o At around 1 pm I have lunch.I usually work on the
computer.
o I have afternoon tea at around 4 pm and eat some snacks.

3. Daily Activities After work:


o I leave work at 5.30.
o I take a train and go to the gym before I go home.
o I work out for almost an hour.
o I arrive home at around 7.30.

4. Daily Activities In The Evening:
o I take a bath.
o I get into my pajamas and take the rubbish out.
o If I don't feel so tired I cook dinner.
o I have dinner at around 9.
o I wash the dishes .
o I lock the door and brush my teeth.
o At around 09.30 I set the alarm and read a book for about
15 minutes.
o Then Finally I turn off the lights and go to bed.

5. Daily Activities At The Weekends:


o On Saturdays, I usually go grocery shopping early in the
morning.
o I do the washing and hang the clothes out to dry.
o I water the garden and wash my car.
o Then Ido the ironing.
o At night, I go out with my friends and have some fun .
o Then I usually hire a movie and watch a movie.
o Before I go to bed, I make sure that I recharge my
cellphone.

CONCLUSION

Based on the discussions that have been described above can be

summarized as follows:

1. Daily life or daily activities means a routined life. It consist of

activities in the morning, activities at school, activities in the

afternoon, and activities in the evening.

2. We use the Simple Present Tense (Verb 1) to talk about habits

and routines.

3. Also your daily routine essay or the sentences in the paragraph

should have some of the following conjunctions : then, next, after

that, and, in, on, at, because, always, usually, first, second,

finally, etc.
