Catholic Funeral Rites:
When a death occurs in your family,
please call the Parish Office and we
will assist you in making the
necessary liturgical arrangements.
Chronic Care Facilities:
Pastoral visits are made monthly.
Reception of Holy Communion is
available to residence.
Notify the Parish Office when serious
illness occurs. When the sick, aged or
incapacitated are confined to home
for an extended time, a pastoral visit
can be arranged.

AND HOMEBOUND
We are grateful to those who give
of their time and care to bring Ho-
ly Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish
office.
SANCTUARY LAMP
We have openings for the Sanctuary Lamp in 2019.
If you would like to book a particular week in
memory of your loved one, please contact the office
sooner rather than later as the year is filling
up. Cost is $35 per week.
CANADIAN TIRE MONEY
We continue to collect your Canadian Tire mon-
ey. It can be brought to the office or placed in the
collection basket.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Friday

The Sanctuary Lamp burns to remind us of
Christ’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament of the

LIFE CHAIN - SUNDAY. 30, 1-2 pm
This Sunday, September 30 from 1 - 2 pm we plan
to gather at the intersection of Main St. and Christie
St. in Grimsby to pray for an end to abortion. We
will be joining our prayers with thousands of people
in 1600 locations across Canada and the United
States who will be forming Life Chains on the same
day!
We will pray silently and hold professionally-
printed signs provided at the site. We will peacefully
stand in honor of the 60 million lives who have been
lost to abortion. This is a local witness intended to
demonstrate that abortion is not a closed or settled is-
sue in this country.

The gospel today is filled with scary imagery about
what will happen to us if we
lead a “little one” into sin. It
seems that Jesus might mean
we are our own “Little ones”
and we must not lead our-
selves into sinful ways.
The image of being thrown into the sea with a
heavy stone tied to our neck or facing the fires of hell
is very harsh. Even worse is the idea of having to cut
off our offending hand or foot. And, if our lustful
eyes yield to temptation, we are also advised to re-
move the offending eye from our head.
Our hope can be found in Jesus’ words ,
“whoever is not against us is for us.” If we continue
to be “for Jesus” and do what is good, we will not
lose our way.
