Good afternoon Rep. Woodall & Ms. Bourdeaux:

You'll recall I usually send questions for my weekly "constituent journalism" Q&A series on
Mondays, but today's a quiet Sunday and I've got a few minutes, so here you go. I'm publishing on
the morning of Friday, October 5, so please send me your answers by end of the day Thursday,
October 4.

Via Kavanaugh Controversy and Violence Against Women Act Collide on Capitol Hill by Katherine
Tully-McManus, Roll Call, September 24, 2018 http://tinyurl.com/y87sdg7s

(There is) a split on how and when to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act,
which is set to expire at the end of September. The House is expected to vote this week
on a stopgap spending bill that includes an extension through Dec. 7 of the landmark
anti-violence law, but many lawmakers would prefer a full reauthorization.

1) Where do you stand on the current state of the the Violence Against Women Act? Please feel free
to elaborate.

From the same article:

One set of negotiations that is likely to slip past the midterms are talks between House
and Senate staff on competing bills to overhaul the Congressional Accountability Act,
which set up and oversees the process for how sexual harassment complaints are made
and handled on Capitol Hill.

2) Where do you stand on the current state of the Congressional Accountability Act? Please feel free
to elaborate.

On behalf of GA 7th voters, thanks for your continued time/consideration and I look forward to
receiving and publishing your answers.

Cheers, Peter
