CRITERIA FOR JUDGING/INDICATORS:

1. GARDEN QUALITY – 40 POINTS
a. Utilization of recycled materials in gardening (containers, etc.) - 8 points
b. Garden Site - 8 points
- With good source of water
- Sufficient sunshine can penetrate the area
- With good soil condition
c. Layout, Design and creativity - 14 points
d. Crop diversity - 10 points
- With source of protein (leguminous vegetable like beans, mongo, pea, etc.)
- With source of calorie/energy (root crops such as gabi, camote, cassava, etc.)
- With source of Vitamin A and Iron (leafy green vegetables)
- With indigenous vegetables (saluyot, kulitis, alugbati, sigarilyas, etc.)
- Other crops planted for better diversity
2. SUSTAINABILITY – 30 POINTS
a. Principles and technology replication - 10 points
- Involvement of children in the establishment of the garden
- Continuous production
b. Adoption of Organic Farming Practice - 20 points
- No waste gardening
- Establishment of compost bins or vermi bins
- Proper application of organic fertilizers
- Preparation and utilization of organic concoctions
3. GARDEN PRODUCTIVITY – 15 POINTS
- Produce is being utilized to feed the children
- Harvest quantity, quality and performance
4. RECORDS AND BEST PRACTICES – 10 POINTS
- Records on production activity, costs, harvest and consumption per crop
- Documentation and pictorials on best practices from the start to date of
planting
