Caution
i.When used in conditions other than the specified above, the BS-400 analyzer
may not provide reliable test results. If the temperature or relative humidity
does not meet the above-mentioned requirements, be sure to use
air-conditioning equipment.
ii.The BS-400 analyzer radiates heat from its rear side when running. A
well-ventilated environment helps keep the room temperature stable. Use
ventilation equipment if necessary. If so, be sure not to expose the BS-400
analyzer to the direct draft that may lead to unreliable results.
2) PC, monitor and printer are prepared and can be installed BS-400 operation
software and BS-400 debug software at any moment.
Note: Be sure the digital and date format of the Windows are same as them of the English
version Windows.
3) Reagent, calibrator, the tool kit, lubricating grease are prepared.
4) Tools:
a) At least 2 adjustable wrenches(one of them maximum caliber should be larger
thanΦ30 )
b) Φ2.5、Φ3 and Φ4 socket head wrench.
c) 1 unit of multimeter.
d) One Philips screw driver and one slotted screw driver.
e) One paper knife.
B. Beforehand Check:
After step A, engineer needs to go to installation site for beforehand check wok:
a) Check the delivery list for acceptance.
One wooden case for main instrument
One paper box for accessories
One paper box for high concentration tank
Water inlet module and waste outlet module
b) Make one copy of original parameter configuration list as back up. The list needs
to be kept by both engineer and end user carefully.
C. Un-package
Detach wooden case
1) Gross weight is 350 kg, totally 8 people are needed to put main unit wooden
case on ground.
2) Loose screws like below:
3) Remove top cover and other wooden parts, only wooden base is kept. .
7) Then rotate fix screw and fix wheel up together until highest position.
8) Then in one piece of wood package, loose 2 screws like below, you will find
padding part at back side:
9) Install padding part to base:
10) Move the instrument down from base carefully, and move to right position
11) 123123
Move instrument to target place
Remove plastic cover and fix bandage:
Release drawer assembly
1) Loose screws as below:
3) And then unscrew 9 screws like below, then remove fix part
Drawer fix board
4) Lift block part and pull out drawer assembly, check whether there are some tubes
blocked.
Opened
b) Take off the arm cover: Grab the lower parts of the arm cover with two hands and
pull them slightly outwards and remove the cover upward from the arm base.
c) Remove the retaining screw and take away the spring. Remember move the arm
to the highest position for convenient operation.
f) Screw the probe’s fluid connector back to the tubing connector. Note that
excessive force may bend the probe.
g) Insert the connector of the probe lead into corresponding jack on the level
detection board. The probe arm is delicate. Exercise caution when inserting the
connector. Excessive force may damage the connector and/or the level detection
board.
i) Then push the probe upward and then release the probe to check if it can move
freely. If not, find the reason and solve the problem.
Retaining nut
Knurled part
b) Align the new mixing bar to the bigger hole end of the retaining nut and gently
screw it into the nut until the end of the bar is in line with the smaller hole end of
the nut.
Inner and outer should
keep the same level
c) Pinch the mixing bar by the knurled part 2 and align the hole of the nut to the axis
on the bar arm, then push the bar upward in the direction of the axis until it can’t
proceed.
c) Connect water inlet filter and BS400 with thin transparent tube.(length less than
2 m)
d) Connect high concentration tank and BS400 with green tube.
e) Connect high concentration waste tank sensor.
b) Rotates VR1 to make D2 on, and then reverse rotates to make D2 off. At this
moment, liquid level detection voltage should be 3.5 V.(This process need to be
done on both sample probe and reagent probe unit)
g) Open vacuum-pressure pump, wait for 30 seconds then access “fluidic pressure
curve” tab to check whether pressure remain at normal range.

h) Keep SV15 opened, remove auto wash unit to a container (volume larger than
300ml)
i) Execute water reservoir tank affusion and probe outer wash by “system prime”.
Check whether water exists in wash well, and water supplied in water reservoir
tank. (last for about 2 minutes)
”
j) After water reservoir tank become enough, execute probes inner wash function.
first make sample probe and reagent probes stop at wash well, then access
“fluidic unit”, open SV02 、SV03、 SV04、 until stable water outlet from probes
then close.

m) Execute wash unit diffusion by opening SV06 、SV07、 SV20、SV21,when
outlet water become stable from wash unit, close this 4 valves.

n) Install wash unit back and make system reset, check movement of all
mechanical parts.
F. Operation software installation
1) Install MSDE database
Turn on computer.。Access folder “MSDE” in system software Installation program,
Double click icon as below to start installation
b) Press”next” to the next step, be sure 10 G space available in target disc. Then
click “next”.
b) Set one test as “water”, apply one test (water acts as both sample and reagent)
and duplicates 90 times, check 90 reaction curve carefully, be sure all reaction
cuvettes are in good condition.
H. System set up & Test
a) Finish test, reagent and calibrator settings on the Setup, Reagent and
Calibration screens, and then conduct a double-reagent blank.
b) Request for calibration and samples after editing them, and then debug the
results.
c) After debugging the results, fill them in the table below:
Test ALT CREA BUN

Test value 1
Test value 2
Test value 3
Test value 4
Test value 5
Test value 6
