multiple means of representation by presenting information that support auditory, visual, and ELL learners.

Lesson idea implementation: 30 minutes

I will introduce my lesson on baby animals by first playing “The Baby Animals Song” on YouTube as my hook
to engage the students. The students will have the chance to dance and sing along to the video and to
become familiar with baby animals and their parents. I will then show the class my video on baby farm
animals I created. The students will have the opportunity on each slide to shout out what the next baby farm
animal will be. My video will help to demonstrate to the students the similarities and differences between
baby animals and their parents. After viewing my video, students will return to their desks and work in
groups on with flashcards matching babies and their parents. The teacher will circulate through the groups to
provide assistance. The students will have the opportunity to use my video as a resource while working on
matching.

My video will be used to inform and differentiate learning by providing all the students the opportunity will to
refer to my video as a resource if they become stuck when working on matching baby animals with their
parents. My video will also differentiate learning for my ELLs students, so they can re-watch and re-listen as
many times as they want. My video will also differentiate learning for my visual and auditory learners.

I will conclude my lesson on baby animals by replaying “The Baby Animals Song” on YouTube.

Reflective Practice:
I feel this lesson idea could impact student learning in an enriching way. I provided several different ways for
the information to be presented, through a song, video, and hands-on matching. I think this lesson idea is a
great way to introduce to students the concept the similarities and the differences of a parent and its baby.
To further extend the lesson, the following day to gauge the understanding of my students, I could create an
interactive chart of baby animals and their parents on the Smart Board/Promethean Board and have students
match.
