About CISD
CISD is a professionally managed committed Non-Profit organization
energetic in capacity building and issue based networking in
Community. The important spotlight of CISD is Involving in Social Impact
Assessment processes of analyzing, monitoring and managing the
intended and unintended social consequences, both positive and
negative, of planned interventions (policies, programs, plans, projects)
and any social change processes invoked by those interventions. Its
primary purpose is to bring about a more sustainable and equitable
biophysical and human environment. And also addressing the problems
of the deprived in their struggle to attain a life of justice and dignity.
Environment stabilization, food security and Socio-economic and
educational empowerment of the community for self-governance are the
most important components of its mission. Gender justice, natural
resource management, and livelihood security are our primary areas of
concern.

Vision of CISD
Construct a society-poverty free, socially, economically self-reliant and
conscious about basic rights and human dignity

Aim and Objectives of the CISD


 To carry out a socio-economic, cultural and political/institutional
analysis to identify the development project stakeholders and social
issues associated with the project;
 To assess the extent of asset loss and undertake the census of
potential development project affected people;

 To analyse the Extent of lands, public and private, houses,


settlements and other common properties likely to be affected by
the land acquisition

 Study of social impacts of the development projects, and the nature


and cost of addressing them and the impact of these costs on the
overall costs of the project vis-a-vis benefits of the project

 To develop a Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) in consultation with


the affected people and project authorities;

 To protect Sustainable household food and nutrition security of


marginalized, especially Women & Children, Dalits and Tribes,
while considering equity and human rights

 To undertake suitable projects and programs with special emphasis


on Primary Health Care/Family Planning & Family Welfare/
Comprehensive Rural Development/Preservation of environment

 To promote cultural activities, local literature, indigenous skills and


local knowledge.

 To assist people to live in hygienic and healthy atmosphere through


launching awareness campaigns, training sessions and sanitation -
promotion activities
Development Projects carried by CISD
 Baseline Survey of Compliance Assessment Survey of Section
6 (a), (b) of COTPA- 2003 and Tobacco Free educational
institutions in Chitradurga District Funding Agency: The
International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease,
New Delhi, Project Co-Ordinator: Dr.Ramesh B,
 Skill development for Youths: 05 different skill development
workshops for youths at various graduate and Post graduate
students were conducted from February 2016 to April 2016,
trained more than 300 youths in communication skills,
presentation skills and managerial skills. Funding Agency: Local
Donors (Self-Funded Programme) Project Co-Ordinator:
Mr.Rajashekar.

 Farmers Training Camp: In collaboration with the NYK, 3 youth


farmers training camps were held in villages of Kora, C.S.Pura
and Belagumba. Information on various schemes available to
farmers was disseminated and farmers were encouraged to avail
them for their farm production. Seeds of peanut, Ragi, coriander
etc and minor tools were also distributed to participant farmers.

 Student Placements: Students from various educational


institutions and universities doing their graduation and post-
graduation in various disciplines also join CISD projects as
interns during their university breaks. This extends
opportunities to gain first-hand knowledge at grass roots level
and develop an insight in the practical problems of the rural
communities. This broadens their horizons and develops a
positive attitude for initiating more innovative humanitarian
projects for communities’ sustainable development. Project

 Conducted Social Impact Assessment of Munirabad Mahaboob


Nagar Railway Project. July 2017, Project cost: Rs.1, 44,139. Project
Co-Ordinator: Sri Satischandra.

 Conducted Social Impact Assessment of Land acquisition for


Vajpayee Housing Board, Basavana Bagewadi taluka of Vijayapura
dist, Karnataka. September 2017, Project cost: Rs.88, 000. Project
Co-Ordinator: Sri Satischandra.

 Conducted Social Impact Assessment of Land acquisition for


extension of NWKRTC bus stand, Basavana Bagewadi taluka of
Vijayapura dist. September 2017, Project cost: Rs.51, 000. Project
Co-Ordinator: Sri Satischandra.

 Conducted Social Impact Assessment of Land acquisition for


construction of Govt. College compound wall. Sindhanur block of
Raichur dist. July 2018, Project cost: Rs.44, 000. Project Co-
Ordinator: Sri Satischandra.

 Conducted Social Impact Assessment of Pune Metro Lane along


with – Consultancy given to Manav Adhikar Samajik Manch,Delhi.
October 2017, Project cost: Rs.7,00, 000. Project Co-Ordinator: Sri
Satischandra.

 Conducted Social Impact Assessment of Purgation of Rajasthan


State Highway Investment Program (RSHIP) of district Roads at
different locations in Rajasthan. August 2016, Project cost: Rs.8,
00, 000. Project Co-Ordinator: Sri Satischandra.
 Conducted Social Impact Assessment of Purgation of Uttar Pradesh
Major District Road Improvement Project. (Aliganj-Soron Road,
Bulandshahr-Anoopshahr Road, Haliyapur Khurabhag Road,
Hussainganj - Hathgaon- Auraiya - Alipurjeeta Road, Kaptanganj-
Hata-Gouribazar & Kaptanganj-Naurangia Sub-project,
Mohanlalganj-Morowan-Unnao Road). July 2015, Project cost:
Rs.12, 00, 000. Project Co-Ordinator: Sri Satischandra.

years of handling IT, Innovations, start-ups and new venture
projects.

Sri.C.C.Pavate, Coordinator of Rural Development, Youth


empowerment Projects. Having 35 years of rural development
projects.

Dr. B.P. Shivalingappa, Coordinator community development


projects, Having 12 years of experience in handling the rural,
tribal and urban poverty alleviation projects

experience in handling development projects, expertise in
carrying surveys and in analysing social impact of the
development projects.
Mr.Rajashekar C, Treasurer. Expert in sustainable
approaches, worked in MGNREG evaluation project, women,
dalit and tribal development projects.
Mr.Saravana K, Director. Expert in software management,
designing and implementing web based projects, Expert in ICT
Components in Development Projects.

Ms.Nisarga Priya T S, Director. Expert in handling malnourishment


women health and food security projects. Worked in Various National
NGOs.

Mr. Babu, Director. Expert in handling women and youth


empowerment projects.
Volunteers: 150 volunteers who are students, research
scholars, movement leaders, youth workers, SHG members are
identified as volunteers across Karnataka with CISD and
involving in all the activities.
