Interactive Whiteboard
Procedure:
Teacher will begin the lesson by asking what students already know about Johnny
Appleseed and the seasons. Teacher will complete the anchor chart through interactive writing to
have students share about what the class might know about Appleseed. Next, students will
develop questions they would like to find answers to throughout their study. These questions will
guide student’s learning and support them when he was feeling there. Teacher will share Johnny
Appleseed texts and apple texts throughout the lesson days. Students will interactively
participate in the discussion and add to the what did we learn column. Students will use the KWL
chart and the texts to develop an informational writing that teaches others about Johnny
Appleseed.
Assessment (How will the students’ show you that the objective has been met):
Student’s KWL Chart will help support students and for me to add student’s discoveries,
thoughts and ideas to the chart. The end of the informational writing will allow for students to
share among one another their projects as the teacher walks about.
