Hello Kelsey,
I received this letter (attached) directed to our Community Liaison Officer, Natasha Ewing and I wanted
to formally respond. BC Parks has had ongoing issues in this Park during the winter months and have
discussed various solutions. At this time, staff are in the process of obtaining quotes for the installation
of 2 gates to close off the access to the boat launch parking lots and road. We will also be putting a
barricade at the boat launch to ensure no vehicles drive into the area from the lake.
We appreciate your feedback on this matter and trust you find our solution satisfactory. Please let me
know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Regards,

Dear Natasha,
Through community conversations it has come to the attention of the Peace River Regional District (PRRD)
Board that the Charlie Lake boat launch at mile 54 is not gated and remains open through the winter. The
campground is locked up but the boat launch is still accessible to the public, who have been using the area
for parties.
On behalf of the PRRD Board, I would like to request that BC Parks install a gate at Charlie Lake’s mile 54
boat launch and that it be locked up for the winter.
Should you have any questions or concerns please contact me at (250) 784-3207 or by email at
