WEDDING BY ELVIS.

(Disponível em:www.googleimage.com Acesso em: 26out2016)

Everybody wants their wedding to be the best and the most memorable. Many young couples in
the US are choosing historical or unusual places to have their wedding ceremonies and receptions.
Some of these unique wedding locations include: Epcot theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort,
the Empire State Building or even Mount Rushmore, where your guests will include past American
presidents, carved in stone, of course!
If you were getting married, where would you go? How about a wedding in Graceland? We spoke
to some folks who got married there last summer. An American couple, Hilary Martin and her husband,
Douglas, decided to have a wedding to remember. They got married at the home of the rock legend
Elvis Presley. ''We were having dinner at Gino's one night and we decided to get married. I proposed,''
recalls Hilary. ''We wanted to have an unforgettable wedding and in a theme we both liked. Douglas
said, 'Elvis,' and that was it!'' ''After that, we went crazy,'' Douglas remembers. ''The theme was rock
and pop celebrities, so we decided to ask our guests to dress as pop stars. We had Bruce Springsteen,

Elton John, Madonna, three Adeles”- it was great. Hilary's bridesmaids were Beyoncé, Shakira, and
Rihanna. I was dressed as Elvis, of course, and Hilary was a Lady Gaga in white.''
Graceland is a great place for a big wedding. Guests can visit the Elvis museum and his mansion
before the ceremony. The best part of all is that Graceland has its own hotel called Heartbreak Hotel!
Douglas and Hilary exchanged their vows in the Graceland Chapel in the woods near the iconic
Memphis, Tennessee, home. Hilary tells us more: ''At our reception, we had Elvis's favorite meal: a
fried sandwich with peanut butter and banana, and then steak followed by apple pie. Everyone loved it;
Elvis would have loved it! For the party in the evening, we asked our guests to prepare a famous song
by the person they were dressed as. Yes, we were singing with the karaoke machine all night long. The
funny thing is no one was embarrassed. Later, Douglas and I left for our two-week trip to Mexico. If I
got married again, I would do it all again, in Graceland, and with Douglas, of course!''

CAN MOWGLI, THE FERAL BOY, TALK ABOUT BEARS?

Mowgli and his best friend, Baloo. (Disponível em: www.googleimage.com Acesso em: 26out2016)

Mowgli's best friend, in Kipling's book, is described as a sleepy old brown bear, who teaches
Mowgli the law of the jungle.
Baloo, in Hindi, Bhālū, the bear, is a main fictional character featured in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle
Book from 1894 and The Second Jungle Book from 1895.
Baloo, a bear, is the strict teacher of the cubs of the Seeonee wolf pack. His most challenging
pupil is the "man-cub" Mowgli. Baloo and Bagheera, a panther, save Mowgli from Shere Khan the tiger
and endeavor to teach Mowgli the Law of the Jungle in many of The Jungle Book stories.
Baloo is described in Kipling's work as "the sleepy brown bear". Robert Armitage Sterndale, from
whom Kipling derived most of his knowledge of Indian fauna, used the Hindi word "Bhalu" for several bear
species, though Daniel Karlin, who edited the Penguin reissue of The Jungle Book in 1989, states that,
with the exception of colour, Kipling's descriptions of Baloo are consistent with the sloth bear, as brown
bears and Asian black bears do not occur in the Seoni area where the novel takes place. Also, the
name sloth can be used in the context of sleepiness. Karlin states, however, that Baloo's diet of "only
roots and nuts and honey" is a trait more common to the Asian black bear than to the sloth bear.
Nevertheless, this may be single observation only; according to the dietary habits of sloth bears,
while sloth bears prefer termites and ants (which is also described as Baloo's special treat in The Jungle
Book), their main sources of food are honey and fruits most of the year.
In the 2016 adaptation, Baloo is stated to be a sloth bear by Bagheera, though his appearance
is similar to that of a Himalayan brown bear. Though this subspecies of the brown bear is absent from
historical records on Seoni, it might have ranged across most of northern India.
