 Teaching approach: the lesson is based on the CLIL approach and organized
through the PPP procedure

questions and answers and through showing pictures. They develop their listening

ROUTINE: (5 minutes)
I will greet my students, I will say: ‘hello! How are you?’ and I will write the date on the
board.
Purpose: to greet my students and create a good atmosphere

WARM UP: (15 minutes)


I will prepare a poster with some pictures on it.
Pictures:

I will make a town with the pictures. Students look at the poster, I will provide separate
words (buildings, school, shops, park), ask if they know the places. If they don’t know, give
them some clues for example: in this place you play, in this place you study… volunteers can Commented [UdW2]: You should also mime these actions.

PRESENTATION: (20 minutes) We will watch a where are you going today ? video

Purpose: to present new vocabulary and involve students into the topic.

I will give students an extra copy to do a matching activity. The vocabulary including in the
copy has to do with the words we have learnt in the poster as well as the words learnt in the
video.

Transition: well done students, now we are going to work with our books!!

DEVELOPMENT: (20 minutes)

Activity 1: ( 10 minutes)

Purpose: to work on the reading skill and comprehension of items seen so far,

I will say, that now we are going to open our books on pages 36-37. I will say that we are
going to read a story about a town and places in town.
Before reading I will ask students what they can see in the pictures. What places do you
know? In turns we are going to read the dialogues. Then I will encourage speaking, so what
places are in the picture? …’ we can see shops, buildings, a park…’

Transition: excellent, good work!!

Activity 2: ( 10 minutes)

Purpose: to develop their listening skill by revising items.

Listening activity: students will keep on working with their books; I will say that now we are
going to circle what we hear. (exercise B) Commented [UdW4]: Check understanding. Demonstrate.

Activity 3: ( 10 minutes)

Purpose: reinforce new vocabulary and revise numbers. I will give students the following copy
and say:

Students may probably have some problems with the dictation of directions, I will read
them but I will write them on the board as well.

CLOSURE: (10 minutes)

Purpose: to round up the lesson by playing bingo, we also revise numbers.

Game: play bingo including vocabulary of places and numbers. I will prepare some cards for
students and I will write on the board the words they have to choose. Commented [UdW7]: What do you mean?
